In one of the most one-sided UN votes in history, delages quickly agreed that something needed to be done to deal with China (Albert B. Rampage), in response to China's sudden, unprovoked, and bizzare use of nuclear weapons directed apparently against the UN itself. A vast, multinational force struck China from multiple sides; the combined armies of Russia and the surviving memebers of the European Union crashing into it from the West, while the United States launced the largest amphious assault ever attempted from the Eastern side of China. China attempted some last minute diplomcay, with a tersly worded apology and a claim it was all just a misunderstanding, but to no avail; dispite their numbers, China's millitary simply could not maintain a 2-front war on that scale for any length of time, and their government quickly collapsed under the pressure.

It starts with mass protests in the streets of Moscow. Some new political party, known as New World Order, is protesting against Vladmir Putin's lack of political freedoms. At the same time, the number of terrorist attacks against Russia goes up dramatically. Key government buildings blown up, millitary units in the streets trying to regain order struck by suicide bombers in fast cars. Finally, when Vladmir Putin himself was assasinated, the internal order in the country breaks down completly; differet parts of the Russian Republic try to break off off and form their own independent country, different political parties fight in the streets. The millitary tries to keep control, but before long different millitary units are fighting each other.

It's not clear what the end result will be, but there's no question that, at least for the duration of the current crisis, Russia is no longer a world power.
