townpoints for Almost for trying to get the game going. But badpoints for strangely trying to link lynches. I'm sure I'm biased on this one, but I don't see the Exp/Lowell link at all. And not in the "oh man I've been trying so hard to distance but damn he got me" way. But in the, "I have no idea what is happening" way.-

In post 1306, ToastyToast wrote:@Dierfire: A couple of things...this may come off as me defending Lowell but it is more that I think you are assuming that everyone approaches mafia with a certain type of reasoning.
1) Who cares if Boonskiies didn't hammer? I fail to see why this is significant, especially given that Boons entire game was "sorry I'm busy I'll be back later to yell at someone before I leave and do nothing again." Although Boon is known for hammering, there is nothing suggesting that he'd do it every game, regardless of alignment.
2) I read ISO's to prove my points all the time. It may seem like a bad approach to some but for those of us who operate more on gut it is very useful. It "usually" means starting with some abstract thought then finding empirical evidence for it a la deductive reasoning. Since we know Lowell is a gut player,
1. My point is that, as Boonskiies is known for dropping capricious hammers on wagons that reach L-1, even when he is Town, he would have little reason not to do so here if Lowell is Town. Why did he show restraint there?
2. Ha ha, the last part of this point seems to have been lost! What do we do with the knowledge of Lowell's play?
Anyway, I'll assume that the natural continuation was something like this: since we know that Lowell is a "gut player" we should assume that his failure to account for the context of the posts has no bearing on his alignment.
My response would be that I still disagree with the case on mhsmith0 and am reading him as Town (so the case is unpersuasive to me), and also that I find Lowell to be a reasonable partner for Boonskiies given his placement on the wagon (so my vote stays on Lowell).-

I can certainly see a potential association w/ Lowell due to Boon's non-hammer, but I'd also consider it plausible that Boon's scum-mates told him not to draw attention to himself by derp-hammering, or that he himself made that call. I'd tend to file that one under somewhat suspicious as opposed to strongly incriminating.-

This is what I'm saying. Believe me or not, but I'd never derp-hammer a scumpartner as scum. If you're not bussing early and often, there's no reason to bus at all.-

And that's more or less the problem. The question is, does Boon not hammering you mean:
1) Boon didn't want to hammer his scum-buddy
2) Boon didn't want to look suspicious by hammering a townie
#1 is an entirely plausible scenario. #2 is also possible, though. Which is why I'd say it's suspicious as opposed to strongly incriminating.-

Well you shouldn't be, if you're town.
Also, I would've made some sarcastic continuation of what you accidentally posted, but that could be seen as talking about ongoing games. So you can chuckle softly if you want.-

@Expedience - help me out, please....
Since scum have daychat he was asking town to vote Sakura.
And he spent practically the entirety of the game defending me and agreeing with my reads except he didn't want to lynch Garmr. I guess as he went down he tried to tie me to him as much as possible and I messed up by going along with it.-

@Dierfire: ah, you're right. Thanks for catching it. You aren't far off. I was just saying that if Lowell is a gut player, I know from my own experience that using ISO's is a way to figure out "why" you are feeling some way. And that often leads to misreading context. I think I'd have to see more clear intent to be convinced that he was being intentionally misleading. I will look at some more Boon-Lowell associations though."A train robbery is where you take a train to your destination, make your move, and take a train back, right?"-Isaac

Getting a little irritated, are we? Finally cracking up?? GOOD!
I OBVIOUSLY didn't "dictate" anything. I said WE are talking about something else. Absolutely nobody would have read it as an "order" except someone who already felt the heat. Thank you for proving me right.
