5. Bobby's claim of "ok I'm really the sorceror's apprentice after he called himself the nursemaid didn't sit well with me when he did it. I thought...hmm... what would I do if I was scum and could see me coming up with what Bobby did.

What I would do if I were scum would be to claim "Townie", then completely change my role to "Doc". Something isn't right.

I didn't tell the whole truth in my claim, but I gave the correct role. Pooky, who claimed early, gave no flavor and no role. And now all of a sudden he is changing everything.

I think Bobby may well be scum, now I reread the game. Jingolaw (the guy he replaced) defended Skruffs a fair few times:

I don’t get the Skruffs=scum argument. Skruffs hasn’t done much other than point out standard flawed scum-hunting techniques (correctly), and questioned the motives of some votes (usefully). Jordan’s vote on Skruffs is thus suspect to me.

@ BM: I agree that Skruffs seems a bit random, but I don’t see that as scummy at this point; I mean fishing at this point doesn’t seem unwarranted, does it? In any case, it seems a bit hasty to cast (get it?) a vote for Scruffs just for fishing. Just saying.

Pooks is looking a bit scummy with the most recent posts, not that I wholly disagree with a DOS lynch

In the 2nd paragraph, he also doesn't dismiss a DOS lynch, and he FOS'ed him earlier when he wasn't voting anyone. Seems like he is trying to keep his distance from DOS without going outright against him, while defending Skruffs.

I agree that DOS’s analyses are tragically noncommittal...DOS votes for theopor in the last post, but read his very own analysis of theopor...would you vote for a player based on that anaysis? On the other hand, I know all about not having much time to spend on mafiascum, so DOS isn’t on the scum list just yet.

Again, he is saying DOS is scummy, but he isn't prepared to add him to the scum list "just yet".

This distancing from DOS and defending Skruffs would also kinda make sense if he was in a team with both. Granted that DOS was the alpha-wolf, but Skruffs is an experienced player and is a good player, while DOS isn't too experienced, and not as good as Skruffs (especially in this game).

By now, DOS is under a fair amount of pressure, and Skruffs had just claimed Gong Farmer, which was a pretty poor fakeclaim, I'd imagine it'd look especially so from someone who knew it was fake, so he decides to uber-distance from both.

I made a list based on what I read. I was saying Skruffs was scummy back on page 25. That I finished my list shortly after his claim is just rather crappy timing for the town.

I still want to know why Pooks says he's been protecting N9V since N2, even though he didn't come out until the following Day.

Pooky is almost certainly town. Unless scum have an investigation immune role that is not the godfather (being as the godfather died last night), Pooky is townie.

Bobby, the reason I asked is because I strongly suspected that the sorceror was a doc role. I wanted you to answer before night, or one of your partners could have fed you an answer. Interesting, then, that you should come out with the role you did and yesterday. This gives me pause for thought. I think quag or theo should be the lynch today, rather than bobby (it pains me to say it, after being so convinced he was scum) but I don't see him claiming that as scum. Which worries me somewhat about Pooky. But I would be shocked if he were scum. The only way I can see him as scum is if N9V is scum. I'll have to review that possibility, but I see it as unlikely.

They both seem scummy. The whole thing is driving me crazy. They are playing poorly.

Both suspected DoS and Skruffs.

Both lied during the mass claim.

Both have now claimed flavour that sounds full of crap. I came out yesterday and showed that the Sorceror was the Doc. Bobby came out and said "oh yeah. I'm really the Sorceror's Apprentice." Of course he didn't *need* to say anything. He could have shut his mouth and left the sorceror in doubt. Or just stuck with nursemaid. So everyone needs to decide what they think about his reasons for confirming my deduction of the sorceror role.

On the other side, Pooky has an innocent claim. Pooky did vote for DoS and was very comfortable with the idea that DoS, Skruffs and, at the time, Talitha were the scum. He never gave reasons. Now he says he is the Angel. But he also says he protected N9V since Night 2. Bobby Plump catches him and says "hey! N9V wasn't even a confirmed cop until day 3." Good point. But he also says he considers protecting himself. Sorcerors cannot protect themselves traditionally.

Here's the real kicker though. In this set up the Angel is a COP. The role that can protect others is the ARCHangel. It is a very powerful role because it can protect itself. It is normally the name used when there are mafia in the game but not when there are wolves.

Phoebus put an Angel in his last game. It was a cop. There was an Archangel and a Sorceror, of course, but there was also wolf AND mafia.

So here is the thing. I am not clear enough in my head to understand the implications of following Pookie. Let's say he's wrong. What are the implications. Let's say he's scum. What are the implications? What if he is a player like the serial killer who wants everyone dead?

Before we rush to vote my dumb noob ass needs some things spelled out for me.

Incidentally I didnt find Quagmire very scummy on a re-read either. Which doesn't mean I won't shoot him. But there is a lot to think about here.
