Heard back from cool game room house:

- Sleeping bags & air mattresses are fine, she says there's plenty of room
- We cannot be loud as fuck because the house is actually in a neighborhood
- There's no yard -- it's on a slope down the mountain -- so outdoor challenges may be difficult

Any objections to this? If not, I'm gonna lock this down.

We could travel to a nearby park for the day or something.

Nearby park for challenges would be cool.

You can also do semi-physical challenges indoor if you're careful. Did them in my frat in college, mostly searching challenges or things with limited physical movement.

Balance/endurance challenges should be easy enough indoors.

I'm still excited about that house

There's a driveway we could use for anything that NEEDS to be outside. What's a scraped knee or two? :P

Also just a fair warning: I am KING DOUCHE in the mornings before I get my coffee (or two, or three).

OKAY EVERYONE! We have confirmation on the house!

If you want to book your spot, it's easy -- I'll be accepting payments via Google Wallet.

How to reserve your spot:

1. Go to wallet.google.com
2. Login with your Google account (or create one).
3. Enter your personal billing information -- credit card, bank account, etc.
4. Click "SEND MONEY" on the right hand side of the screen.
5. Enter my e-mail address (will.hare.89@gmail.com) and a dollar amount ($100) - be sure to pick the correct payment method.
6. In the notes field, enter your username and "Mountain Meetup Trip" for details.

That's it! I'll send you confirmation personally when I receive your payment and will update the OP accordingly.

Is space going to be an issue, or are we under the 19 or w/e total?

I talked to the owner of the house. It sleeps 15 comfortably across 8 beds, she says, so anyone over the 15 bed cap will either take floor, or she said there's AMPLE space for air mattresses, etc.

Awesome. Sending monies now. Also, someone should probably check if google wallet charges a fee for using credit to cover interchange (I just dont know if they do, and I'm using debit b/c I'm too lazy to find out)

Also, we're discussing possible transportation options right now. It's going to be impossible for me/Nuwen/Grimm to transport everybody in our cars (we can fit a total of 10 other people besides us, which still leaves us 6 people short), so if you're driving, that would be amazeballs. If you're not driving, and you're taking a bus, you can bus directly to the terminal in the mountains. If we don't have room for everyone, we'll have to rent a van or two, which I would expect to be split between all attendees. Everyone should also try to keep luggage to a minimum, as it's hard to really fit 19 different sets of luggage in a car.

I can't drive and don't have a car.

If anyone's driving through/near DC, I'll take a pickup. Otherwise, I can fly to like NC and hitch a ride from there or bus or something.

Where is the actual cabin and/or what are the closest points of interest? For planning purposes.

(If I end up driving down from Ohio/PA I'm happy to pick people up if there's gas money involved)

I'll definitely help pay for people's gas to get there from the general funds pool if other people are driving.

Blowing Rock, NC is the "main hub town" near the cabin.

My summer is still very up in the air, so I might be flying from NOLA or I might be driving from NJ/NYC area. If the latter I'll update and can pick people up along the way.
