Omg RIP Molla.
I really liked that game tho. Seriously it had 2 Friendly neighbours and BP Doc, 2x BP Bodyguard in a 14p, with 2 scum - 1 scum vig and 1 scum backup vig.

Difference is I guess now Scum Vig is actually blacklisted.

Normals can have up to 2 Non-normal roles if they're assessed as balanced.

I don't get this reaction at all. It sounds like BB used a role in a way you don't consider Normal. Then, instead of making him change the setup, you let him run the setup and blanket-banned the role.

Example of a scum vig setup I'd consider normal:

double day

2 mafia goons
1 mafia vig

1 cop
1 tracker
1 doc
7 VTs

Ah, that makes more sense. What happened in molla's game that made you decide that scum vigs shouldn't be normal? Was a vig claim assumed to be confirmed town?

Even then, I'd argue that the non-normal part of the game was that there were only two scum in the game. I don't think anyone would assume the vig to be town in the setup I posted.

Investigation-Immune is listed as only serial killer on the normal page, but on the traitor page under the normal guidelines, it suggests using it if you want it immune to cops. Can this be clarified?

I personally don't think Mafia should be able to have a Vigilante. Like, in my mind, Mafia Vigilant is broken as hell. I was surprised to find it normal, in my mind it's always been bastard.

If you have a role cop able to confirm a vigilante as town, I think that's fine and makes sense tbh. It's the same thing if a rolecop finds a Godfather.

an early scum death will probably result in an early massclaim after which it shouldn't be too hard to figure the setup out

no one else will claim the kill so getting tracked is pretty irrelevant

Huh, don't remember that being discussed. (Though I know about the game which probably served as the inspiration for that change.)

Mafia Vigilante used to be listed as explicitly Normal. This was almost certainly an oversight.

That said, if (under the old rules) someone had asked to have a game with a Mafia Vigilante in approved for normalcy (but not balance), I feel like I'd have approved it, because reviewing for normalcy is mostly a case of a) seeing if the rules are followed, and b) seeing if people are trying to crazily abuse the spirit of the rule. I don't think the setups that have been mentioned here are an abuse of the "spirit of the Normal regulations". OTOH, they're not really what people seem to want/expect in a Normal, and thus it makes sense to change the regulations to make it clear that we consider that to be more Theme territory.

Two changes! These apply to any setup not already passed review.

• All games must have a continous day/night cycle (e.g., no Nightless or Double Day).
  
• Night Specific is a whitelisted modifier.
