A waning moon rose above the town. Taking advantage of the failing light, the powers of the town shifted into motion. for the common citizen, this is what could be observed:

The wind blew up leaves into the humanoid shape of a man, menacing with a weapon of some kind. Blinking, the old man scanned the shadows he thought he saw the apparition in. nothing, now.

The silence of the night gave way to a somehow much worse ringing in the ears of the manger. She wants desperately to drown it out with music, with television, with mindless tasking, anything . . . but is afraid that something will take offense.

Walking briskly up the street, the short hooded figure occasionally stopped to scan his whole environment, looking for something he wished he wouldn't find. Behind him, a shape followed, keeping to the shadows and stopping with an almost predatory premonition.

Along the hill leading to the wealthiest families of Kingsland, an engine was heard idling. not 5 minutes ago, screams and gasping whimpers were heard.

'The Judge', as she had become known as, was found eviscerated in her car. A joke of poor taste might mention how she broke curfew.
