Oh ho ho, I wish I was good with him, that would be impressive!
Hes just the one I suck and die least with.
And yes his egg move is very easy to fuck up with if you don't take the time to practice it. And really, who has time for that??? :B

Pokemon?

I just feel like I play it with a set of rules that I must follow and I can't ever play it loosely. Like my pokemon have to be in my party in order of level and then if their level is tied, by order of HP, once they level up I shift the order around so it makes sense again, etc. I just feel on the glimpses of LPs and Nuzlockes I've seen people are able to play more freely while I've been playing this way since I got Pokemon Yellow. It frustrates me.

As a kid, I used to just do whatever. I would level them up more or less evenly and change the order if one was leveling too quickly, but I didn't pay too much attention. That bit me in the ass in the late game. Always used a fire starter, though.

A little later, I kept to a rough formula for my party's composition, since it worked for all of the required HMs and TMs and for passing the endgame. I also started sorting Pokémon by level and number of EXP needed for the next level. I would also make a point of never using any Berries or potions, and I caught literally everything with Poké Balls (except Safari). The worst part, though, was trying to get every single item and every single available Pokémon, which eventually became neither realistic nor fun, particularly when they started distributing critters through store events and Pokémon Dream World.

I've been trying to play more loosely with Alpha Sapphire (because doing it otherwise meant I wasn't ever going to start). The tendency to want specific types for my party is still there, and I think I still want to stick to Poké Balls only, but it's been nicer than usual to not care so much.

Leaning towards Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario Maker, and Splatoon for the time being.

It's sad that Mario Party 10 got such bad reviews. I love fun/zany local multiplayer. I don't see a Warioware out for the Wii U yet

"Game & Wario" came out for Wii U in 2013
But
it's pretty mediocre
I like playing the Fruit detective and it's version of pictionary but there's just not much quality content with it
it's like $30 though so a cheaper WiiU game

That was 9, 10 uses the same system, though. Which makes me upset. But then it also has a 1v4 mode where one person is Bowser and the others are players and that seems like a blast.

The 1v4 with Bowser is what's so disappointing, it's really not that good
Overall the whole experience is too short and not enough content (not enough minigames or chances to play minigames)

So I find Eve fascinating to read about even though it sounds utterly boring to actually play, but anyway this was cool: http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev ... of-b-r5rb/

A big battle that caused (supposedly) $300,000 worth of real world money in destroyed ships.

And really, it seems most awesome to be in charge and making meta calls about strategy and what not, but to do that would probably take an immense amount of time and dedication, rivaling a real time job... which I'm sure would be full of backstabbing, gossip, etc.

I try to have 6-8 pokemon rotating in and out of the party that I'm all keeping in the same level range, occasionally replacing one with some new coolness. I try to avoid paying attention to types in party composition (more challenge = more fun). I also have an irrational love of defensive strategies so I end up with stuff like Tropius with Solar Beam as its main offensive move. Oh, and Battle Style = Set; Switch is basically cheating. It all takes a bit more effort, but I find it very satisfying.
Scumchat is awesome. Yarr!

So I try to use as few Pokemon as possible over the course of the game, just whatever I need for HMs. So, last time I played Red I only ever used Bulbasaur and Nirodanf.

And a lot of Pokemon sitting in the PC/getting exp shared.

When playing 5th gen, I somehow picked up the idea of keeping something in my party until it was fully evolved, then switching it out for something else, in order to complete my dex as much as possible while running through the story.

This does not work well when most things are done evolving before level 40 but I made it work eventually.

Did it to some degree with 4th and 6th gens too (I hadn't played 4th before because I was broke af when it first came out) but I don't recommend it as a playstyle unless you're as obsessive about completing the dex as I am. (I have a living dex including all the vivillons and a bunch of shinies, etc, as of whatever was out by March or so. I haven't played in a while so if there's new things I've likely missed those.

Disclaimer: the living dex isn't as impressive as it sounds; a few of the legendaries are cloned or otherwise would not pass a pokecheck.)

I'm watching a let's play of the new 2015 King's Quest, and it looks REALLY good. It's episodic tho so hopefully the other episodes are just as good as this first one.
