I'm perfectly comfortable waiting for the right moment to put ryan in the spotlight. Doing so now would just distract from everyone else.

I'm wondering about Pooky.

It's been a week and a half since he decided to poke his head in here and almost 100 posts.

As he has been a HUGE lurker (he's been active in many other areas on the site), and considering his "jester-style guide for scum" post, I'm inclined to believe that he is the jester. He threw out the ultimate pre-emptive "I'm townie" claim and then vanished like the proverbial fart in the wind.

I agree: Pooky's lurking is making me uneasy. But I actually thought Pooky's guide for scum was very pro-town, or at least anti-Jester. Is there some flaw in it you'd care to point out?

He has not done anything of noticeable contribution apart from saying theres nothing to say so.

I'm sure we'll get a deadline soon but we also need a lynch or we'll have bigger problems, If we lynch the jester it's over however if the jester is NKed we win so.

Town and scum could set up an alliance to find the jester with practically 1 free lynch a day, if the scum NK's the person who we think is jester and we vote for the NK that night we could find the jester. and we try to find scum during the day.

The thought on Pooky as jester is WIFOMish. Point out a (not necessarily THE) strategy for working with/around the jester, claim town, and lurk like hell. It's like the Tao of Jester.

If scum can kill jester tonight it's like a normal game...
We can try to lynch scum and as scum can only NK town or jester they have a better chance if we shortlist it to a few people the Scum can make the final choice and we will have a dead jester..
If the scum act as a separate group they will try to eliminate the best townies not the townies which are not cooperating to deduce who the jester is.

We have no evidence on Pooky being a jester (I'd lean more toward mafia at this moment on him) I don't like somebody helping the scum in a game where we the town are suppose to be eliminating them.

Agreed. We'd be allowing scum to exert too much control over the game.

Besides, this so called consensus would be greatly influenced by mafia, who can band together in 3 (whereas townies have no one to trust but themselves). So in the end, they'll be deciding their own NK anyway.
