Anyone want to own team Dignitas or Dignitas EU? Sart bidding! You just need half a million dollars or more.

I don't think Ball's performance in Korean SoloQ should have been looked at as an early indication of how he and C9 might do at worlds, the criticism he got is deserved because his poor performance in SoloQ is corroboreated by his slump in this last LCS split. It would be a different matter if Balls was still playing pretty well like his good old self in competitive play, in which case his SoloQ performance would have meant less.

Also am I the only one to fucking think that when people say "Oh this is Jatts job, he's an analyst!", that analyzing players on fucking
twitter
perhaps isn't the smartest way to do so? Presenting analysis on PTL, casting, LCs, Desk, shows, whatever, seems more appropriate given how Twitter has a reputation for a medium to shit talk people, leaving his comments to be taken out of proportion like they just were.

i doubt you're the only one. But you're wrong. Dead wrong. Analysts in all fields do so on twitter: politics, sports, religion, etc.

It's not shit talking to say "balls has had trouble in solo queue <proof>" particularly as it fits with an overall theme of balls' decline.

I wasn't saying Jatt was shittalking? I was saying that twitter has a lot it to go around, and people might've misinterpreted Jatt as doing so.

An analyst doing his job?

That's, like, the exact avenue to give it...

I honestly think the question is this:

Exactly how much does solo queue matter as a pro player?

Pros and Analysts do and should have different priorities and perspectives.

The way in which C9 defended Balls was incredibly unbecoming, though. They basically said "solo queue doesn't matter, [implications that Jatt is terrible at his job]," when solo queue is a good measure of certain skills that are relevant in competitive play, and Jatt is actually pretty good at his job (at least the analysis part. He definitely needs to grow more of a backbone)

A fair bit, actually.

There's a certain range you'd expect to see pros in, and Balls is clearly an outlier in a very, very bad way. It reflects the fact that Balls's mechanics have gone to shit in the past year (for a pro, at least), and his individual decision making has gotten pretty bad (overextending when there's a high chance the jungler is nearby, etc).

Let's be clear, here, Balls isn't a top half top laner in a region that is relatively weak for top laners.

I stand by what I said. Different perspectives, etc. theyre professionals. Part of that I'd rallying around teammates. They aren't analysts. Unprofessional is berating teammates.

Professional would be to not respond or to have provided a real explanation, not to have ad hommed Jatt.

Who cares? they didn't ad hom him anyway did they? They ridiculed his analysis. I think they're wrong, but being professional as a pro gamer has little to do with analysts.

There's few other ways to judge players other than that though for open applications.

My jimmies were pretty rustled after watching 15 min of that. Fortunately for me I can go cool them off by heading to sleep and not worrying about anything I just watched.

Holy shit though. That was.... something...

Yes. He's pretty clearly the most influential content creator (who doesn't also work for riot) for the super vocal reddit minority, which amplifies him.

I view him like I do local sports talk radio.

I've honestly not watched anything he's done in a long time.

Also, that came out far worse than intended.
