I went to my first ever PTQ today!
I went 6-2, which was good for some packs but not top 8. My second match loss was pretty frustrating; I got a loss game 3 for forgetting to return 2 delved cards to my library between games. I won when we shuffled the cards in and played the game out. That's a mistake I won't be making again.
I was surprised I did so well; my pool felt pretty weak so I played 5 colors to avoid using bad cards. The alternatives were WGB (with no bombs or lategame) or UGR (with no 2 drops whatsoever and minimal removal). The things I did have going for me were strong fixing (I played 4 triple lands and 6 lifegain lands) and Ashcloud Phoenix, which stabilized / outright won several games for me.
Also, 5c in this format is not nearly as bad as other formats. I've drafted 4 and 5c decks perfectly fine because of the hilarious amount of fixing available.
I played a total of 20 games over the night. Of those, 16 were against almost identical UR Delver lists. Treasure Cruise has done gross things to the Online meta.
Instant (blue)
target opponent may put up to three cards from hand onto the battlefield
Converted mana cost: 3
Enchantment - Aura (black)
Enchant permanent
Enchanted permanent gains ''1, Discard a card: destroy target Beast''
--Her forest made of border flees a single toe yet blesses more effectively than the riddle
– Vitenka, the black
Converted mana cost: 3
Sorcery (red)
Choose one: clash with an opponent. If you win, add B to your mana pool for each card in your graveyard; or add R to your mana pool for each card in an opponent's graveyard
Entwine 3
Sorcery (black)
Choose one: Destroy target nonblack creature; or return target creature from your graveyard to your hand
CMC: 3
^Seems really interesting, especially for limited.
I've also been rolling a lot of library-related cards. Tap an untapped library you control. Return target library to its owner's hand. Gain control of target nonlegendary library (da fuq) until end of turn, it gains haste (+ scry 4), etc.
Yeah, this is way too much fun.
[edit]
Instant (red)
gain control of target permanent until end of turn
Replicate X, where X is the number of permanents on the battlefield
Madness Y, where Y is the number of spells cast this turn
Converted mana cost: 1
If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?
No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.

I almost went to that!
Congrats on the good finish though.
Also, I um...I never thought I'd say this but um...Standard seems awesome right now.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
I still have ideological concerns about the format, but it's fun itself.
Also if Jeskai and Abzan continue their domination, I think 4 color is the way to go. How do you go bigger than Abzan? Run Dig Through Time and Pearl Lake Ancient with Siege Rhino.
Or Whip because all the grave hate fucking sucks right now unless you're running constellation.
Well, that's good, actually, because I've been thinking about getting back in, now that I've got a job that pays me actual money and doesn't time-conflict with FNMs.

I can't remember if the Umbrella Revolution list was the same as the one I was looking at. Was Umbrella the one with only one Altar of the Brood, or was it the Twinflame one?
The finals everyone expected from new Standard at GPLA: Mono-red versus GR Monsters.
