Cause a player from 2006 should recognize a reaction test when its obvious that is what it was, especially when shos admitted it was one. You don't think it's a bit odd that an experienced player has no idea what a reaction test looks like? I'd expect a newbie to be confused, not someone who's been playing since 2006
