The Ocean House is my main home. I built the other two for people to stay at when they are exploring and need a safe haven. Let me know if you need more information.

I don't remember the coords for my place, but if you follow the nether road towards Osota'a ocean home it's the portal at the end of the cobblestone tunnel thing.

Yeah there is a bridge and then his portal and then you continue on to my Ocean House portal.

Morning All,

The last few days I have been running around the Nether searching for Nether Wart. Sadly mostly what I have been doing during my time out there was experiencing horrible flaming deaths and on top of that I still have not found any Nether Wart. So I thought I would ask if anyone here was growing some and could spare 1 Nether Wart. Being a rather good farmer here and in real life over time I could start a decent Nether Wart farm with just 1. If you can spare 1 unit of nether Wart please let me know or know a spot (Nether cords) where some grows please let me know. Thanks again ahead of time.

Today while I was finishing up the map for the Temple of the Midnight Sun area I was lucky enough to stumble on.....a MESA biome! I'll be setting up a portal to it tonight and adding a stop on the Rhino Railway route that connects to the Temple and my Ocean House (Gold Route). This way people can access it quickly.

Tierce it will depend on how you build and the style. Something like Native structures in Mesa Verde National Park would look great there built into the mountain sides! I think that is going to be my next building project..

So what is the idea around this server? Are we building a town or is free for all?

Been thinking about an idea that came to me tonight. I wanted to see how everyone felt before I did anything. I was thinking about constructing a huge PVP Castle, maybe it can be a castle in the sky. Anyhow it would be a game area that we could jump on as a group and "FIGHT TO THE DEATH". I have never done PVP in Minecraft before, but I though the project might be interesting. Oh course if no one thinks the idea is a good one then that is ok i'll come up with something else to build. Let me know what you think.

For this castle I am planning on adding traps, secret passages, and even a small area that goes into the nether. There will be a spawn room from a netherportal as the starting point and two sleeping chambers for quick respawning after death. Also since flags were added we could maybe even do a capture the flag type game as well.

We should probably switch to 1.8 anyway now that it's out. It's kinda silly being on a 1.8 snapshot when the stable version is available.

Yeah they fixed rabbits in 1.8!! They are no longer Pets and act like the rest of the animals. Once it is updated I'm doing a Rabbit cooker!! haha

We could build up that bay to look like a port/market kind of thing, and we could use that place as a sort of town area where people can set up market stands to sell stuff yaknow

In vanilla I want to start bringing Spawntown together a bit. Connecting roads to each house set up so far, and I want to build a Map Building. I thought it would be interesting to have a place were we can add full maps of areas we have explored with the associated coordinates to that map. Also each map in the Map building will have a copy of the map in a chest below that a person could make a copy of as well.

Before I start building the Map Building thought I wanted to get an idea of what style I should build it in. Spawntown has a wide variety of housing styles, but I didn't know if "community" buildings like this Map Building should have a set style. If you have a suggested style let me know.

Also regarding the roads I'll setup a few examples of road types near the spawntown statue. I will label them by a single letter. When you have a chance please go check out the styles and cast your vote here. By Monday I'll check the votes and which ever wins will be the road type I'll start building to connect the house of spawntown area together. Let me know if that sounds like a plan.

After looking around spawntown I think a path using birch as part of the path might be the way to go. Oso's awesome Community farms has a front face that uses an outline of birch. I'll see what combos I can come up with to keep with that look and feel.

I don't have the cords for spawn, but my house is close to spawn at -282, -121. There is a portal there that will lead you to spawn

OK, so the Jungle!! Sorry for not posting anything sooner, but it was a LONG tunnel to dig through the Nether, and I wanted to make sure everyone had a path to get to it first. In the Overworld the Jungle nether portal I have built are at cords

. It is a long walk in the overworld to get there, but it is also a long walk in the nether to get there as well. The path

in the nether

to the Jungle starts at

-30, -11

and is right next to MME and My portal. Like I said it is long, 2700 blocks long! Takes about 7 to 10 minutes to run it. The path itself is safe, but as of right now is 2 blocks high and 1 block wide. I plan on expanding it eventually to 3x3 and adding a rail because lets be honest, walking that sucks haha. If anyone would like to help with the tunnel expansion or maybe help building another tunnel/path above in the "nicer" looking nether please let me know. In the end though the path is there for all to access the jungle so have fun. One last note: I also saw some Ocelots running through the brush if anyone is interested. Eventually I'll be bringing back two myself. =)

Anyone know what the floating orb of light is? It shows up on radar as a mob, and if I get close it starts shooting what looks like energy zaps, which don't seem to hurt. Though with armor stats maybe I just don't feel it. Maybe some Thaumcraft thing?

Also I occasionally see a little critter with a backpack. That's probably Thaum too?

Also, I'll be making the rounds in Vanilla at some point in the near future to put important waypoints on my minimap. So far I have the desert village, the clinic, Gabemeister's Village/House, and Osota's Estate (the waypoint is in the tower). Are there any other points of interest I should visit? Actually the tower and the Big House are part of MME's house. My house is the fishing hut down the path in the middle of the pond =)

The mass appeal and accessibility of Minecraft has always been a huge mystery to me.

Like, my guess would have been that it would have an extremely loyal cult, but not the mass appeal it has.

I just tell people it is like Legos for adults. As a kid we would dump a box of legos on the floor an and just let your imagination run wild. This is the same thing. You are only limited by what you can dream up. That is the appeal to me.

oh I know that, but when you create a SSP in SP4 you want us to make it a Biomes of Plenty instance right? Else the seed will not have those biomes o plenty biomes.
