Hey guys, I have what is probably a dumb question: Do I download FTB as a .exe or as the .jar? And I'm guessing it replaces the usual launcher for minecraft?

Is anybody willing to help a brother out and answer this question?

If you're on Windows, you can use either; on Mac or Linux you need the .jarfie, not the executable.

I just download the .exe. It launches the minecraft.exe or something like that, but instead of clicking on minecraft.exe you click FTB.exe to play.

The Vanilla Server has updated to 1.7.4 - please update your clients accordingly!

For those of you in-the-know, this means there is now integrated Twitch streaming from within Minecraft.

Please note, there's a single caveat Mojang placed on Twitch streaming, detailed below. (I assume it's because they want people switching over to the swanky new "Mojang" accounts rather than continuing to use to the Minecraft accounts.)

At Minecon we announced our new partnership with Twitch to bring one-click broadcasting to Minecraft. It has been in the recent snapshots, and proven to be very stable and ready to go live.

Before you can start streaming, you will need to visit your Mojang account settings and link a Twitch account to your Mojang account. Then in the game you may check the quality settings in Options -> Broadcast Options, or just go ahead and start broadcasting at any time by hitting F6. This key can be configured in the Controls options.

This is only supported on Windows (Vista and higher) and Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and higher.
If you cannot start broadcasting ingame for any reason, the game will tell you why and possibly how to fix it.

Also note, that on our server you are

OBLIGATED

to respect others' rights to privacy - ask

PERMISSION

to stream if you are not the only person online and please continue to do so if new players log in while you are streaming. Nobody is obligated to give you permission to stream if they are not comfortable doing so.

Finally, it goes without saying that posting the IP of the server publicly is also

HIGHLY

frowned upon.
If people express interest in joining the server and they desperately want the IP and/or whitelisting, direct them to this thread as always.

Should be a bit easier on those jumping into the server from the site who don't know me IRL, and I'd been meaning to switch over to my "alt" account at Mojang for some time.
