It's the 30th pick. I can show the rest of picks if desired, but the most notable is 2x savage roar.
I'm given the choice between ancient of lore, force of nature, sea giant.
Opinions?
Given this information I would pick Ancient of Lore(>Sea Giant>Force of Nature), but I'd need to see the entire deck to be truly sure. Are you ready for this?-

Ancient is good if you're on parity/ahead andcanhelp when you're behind, depending how behind you are. FoN can be iffy if you're on parity, okay/good if you're ahead, and can be worse if you're behind.
if you had a second FoN and lots of card draw, I could maybe see it, but both Ancients are great in Arena and I'd probably take them unless your curve was something really sillyIf you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?

Arena is excellent if you know what you are doing.
And mage is pretty weak in it ime.-

Mage is commonly considered the #1 arena class, mostly because it has one of the best hero powers (since trading is always going to be centric to the arena meta) and many of the best commons (flamestrike, fireball, frostbolt, polymorph, water elemental are all fantastic especially in arena meta). It's certainly the most picked.
But yeah, if you know what you're doing in arena you can make a tidy profit. I pretty rarely get fewer than 3 wins, and I probably average 6-7.-

Arena is dumb. It's a half-assed limited format that is pointless because it's not really a format and instead RNG. Anytime you completely disregard the rules you've set for deckbuilding (more than 2x of a card allowed in arena), you're doing something wrong.Ski mask? Check! Sawed off? Check! I think paladin is best in arena, just because of all the cards that both give value and heal you.
Arena games can turn into one guy trying to kill the other before losing board control ime, and paladin is great with those.
Personally I like druid just because even one of the druid rares/epics can make your deck amazing. And the druid of the claw is also really good.-

Arena statistics skewed to the submissions of the members of the site ("~171900 arenas" since official release, almost 300k since alpha), but probably generally representative of the population at large.Men's evil manners live in brass; their virtues we write in water.-

It's not about just turning profit... it's possible to break even (Booster = 100g, + 50g back) after just one win. It's guaranteed after 4/5 wins. 7 wins is where you get booster + 150g back.
If you can reliably get 4-5 wins on each arena run, it's just as gold efficient as buying packs. Granted, you also have to consider the 7-8 matches you'll have to play on that arena run. I was only grinding arenas for awhile but goddamn does that format take a toll on you.green shirt thursdays-

-shrug-, I like it as a format, but I might be biased because Im averaging 5 wins per run.
Im mainly doing it to farm cards though.-

Both of you are just incorrect if Mage isn't #1 overall. You judge it based on what each class brings to the table with their class specific cards. No class comes close to touching Mage's suite of class commons [Flamestrike, Fireball, Water Elemental, Frost Bolt, Polymorph] except MAYBE Paladin [Truesilver Champion, Consecrate, Blessing of Kings, Argent Protector, Hammer of Wrath].
GODS:
Mage/Paladin
GOOD:
Druid, Shaman, Rogue (ish)
BAD:
Rogue (ish), Priest, Hunter
SHIT:
Warlock, Warrior
I've already explained why Mage/Paladin are far and away the best... they offer the best commons, which are what you'll have access to more often than not.
Druid has a pretty good suite of class cards in rares & epics [Ancients, Keeper of the Grove, Starfall] and a few worthy commons [Ironbark Protector, Swipe, Druid of the Claw].
Shaman is mage-like in its commons but comes in slightly less with only Hex, Axe, and Fire Elemental as great commons (then a huge drop off to stuff like Forked LIght
Warlock has NO commons I'd want to take... maybe Shadow Bolt? I don't know. That class just sucks in arena when you can't build around specific strategies.
Warrior's problem is that their good commons are all ones that require Warrior to take face damage to get value (War Axe, Reaper, Weaponsmith).green shirt thursdays-

Mage>Paladin>Druid>Rogue>Shaman [big gap] Warlock>Priest>Warrior>Hunter, for me.
According to the HearthStats July report (which is outdated because Naxxramas), Rogue>Mage [gap] Shaman>Paladin [big gap] Druid [gap] Warrior>Hunter>Warlock>Priest
Really the whole thing is up to personal preference. The nice thing about arena is that all the classes are playable. Are you ready for this?-

The thing with warlock is that its hero ability allows you to curve kinda low because as long as your health is reasonable you get so many cards.
I don't actually believe frostbolt is very good in arena tbh. If it's earlygame, you want a minion. If it's lategame, you want a bigger minion that'll do more than 3 points of damage. It's good, but it's not insane.
Warrior is kinda crap yeah. But i think their real issue is that they're the one class whose hero ability just won't impact the board. Good news for them is it undoes the face damage their value weapons get, bad news is they can't guarantee those weapons.
I do think rogue is pretty decent in arena, but their biggest issue is they have NO lategame to their class. Come turn 6-7, their hero ability is the worst by far, and all their good class cards are 3 mana or less. And they don't have much usable AoE. So they REALLY need board control. They're good at getting it, but meh at keeping it I think.
Tbh, priest is in a similar spot. No great usable AoE, their hero power is worthless without control, but if they get that control holy crap. One card goes two or three times beyond what it would for every other class because you keep healing it.
I have issues with overload on shamans lol, so they're basically unplayable for me.
But yeah, I think the real reason mage and paladin are so highly rated is because their comeback potential is the best.
