Apologies for my protracted silence, i have good reasons involving alcohol, lampposts and handcuffs :S but enough of that.
So, who here is guilty? Fess up and save yourself a painful interrogation? Is it you Jack? Two votes for one person, is that the confidence of scum that powers you?

[IC]lynch all liars refers to a meta game strategy of lynching everyone who lies to discourage townies from lying. However it is not meant for use the way Battle Mage described it, it's more along the lines of "doctor claimed to be townie and is now claiming doc" lynch him. Or "townie claimed cop but wasn't" lynch him.[/IC]

FOS: Tendril
for alleged lamppost abuse.
Hey i was abused! (And probably anyone that saw)
'Is that a finger of suspicion or are you just...'
it was 3 to lynch at deadline. with only hours to go, for all intents and purposes, you hammered me.
And yes, i didnt use the phrase in the exact context for which it was designed, but you should see what i am getting at.

I don't see what you were getting at. The phrase "lynch all liars" has nothing to do with the way you used it. Or am I unaware of some other meaning?
say it how you read it. should you lynch people who are lying, because the only people who should lie, are scum.
not difficult.

Isn't this whole argument (over who may or may not have hammered someone, then consequently what was mentioned about it) getting rather far outside our mission here? Even without the context of the game, I thought Jack's comment was purely meant to be funny, rather than any sort of actual observation. Why so aggressive, BM?
Yes, if we weren't accepting Jacks posts as funny, it may be all over already...
Jack wrote:Yes yes I confess. My overconfidence is my greatest vice, sorry to let you down battle mage.
Anyway, back to finding scum....my only suspicion is on the aggression of Battle Mage, however it could be Jack playing a clevel double bluff, for now i'll hold back my vote for more discussion.

It's a stupid method only good in games that have roles that aren't complex. If you are a two shot vig called into question and you have already used one of your shots, it is a smart move and say that you were one shot so the scum see you as useless.

What about if you were a town and were at -1 and about to be lynched for some reason (mafia repeatedly accusing you of being scum for instance)? In that case, if there was no other way out wouldn't lying possibly save you? I mean, there would always be the chance that you could be caught out lying, but I imagine that even if somebody else counter-claimed it would at least buy some time.
No no no. If you are vanilla town and you claimed cop, and then the real cop claims all you've done is out a power role. There's no point in claiming vanilla townie usually. Just avoid getting to the point where you are going to be lynched.
