to be fair heavy rain's plot is horribly contrived but kind of amusing in its badness at points
it's more of a game than most visual novels are too at the very least

I'm not in High School anymore, and have a real job now that I have to be on-call 24/7 when not working, and when we are working, we often don't get free time for days to weeks on end depending on how long we spend out to sea. A normal underway schedule, 0700-1700 is a work day, with a 1 hour lunch in the middle, outside of normal working hours, we have a watch schedule rotation of 5 hours on watch 10 hours off watch, so the 14 hours of "off time" is really 5 hours of watch, and 9 hours of eating breakfast, dinner, working out, showering, doing some more work if you're behind in the work you needed to get done in the workday, and if you're lucky catching 5-6 hours of sleep. We do get sunday mornings from 7 till noon off, if you're not on watch, but if you're not on watch, you either had the 0200 till 0700, or the 10PM-2AM watch, so you want to be sleeping during that time, not playing useless video games.

I bought the game shortly before getting underway for Mobile, Alabama for a port visit for Mardi Gras, all said the underway lasted 4 weeks, so I didn't get much play time.

Did that clear up how I was unable to finish the game in that timeframe?

(inport, it isn't so bad, we have a decently normal schedule, 0700-1600 workdays, with one out of every 6 days you have Duty, where you have what is basically the same schedule as being underway)

Seriously, that has nothing to do with Chevre's question or my answer. Chevre is talking specifically about only the amount of time spent on the game. The game is like 10 hours maximum if you screw around as much as physically possible.
(I've personally never played it myself but the playthrough I did watch on YouTube was 6 hours in length approximately, for what it's worth.)

Though maybe you read my response as towards you directly, which also makes no sense since Chevre asked about game length and I responded in the next post? So no I wasn't talking to you in the first place no sorry.
