Also has anyone been lucky enough to get their hands on Caverna? That thing is so elusive.
I've played Suburbia, Le Havre and Nations and I can't figure out which of those 3 are my favorites but if I had Caverna it might end up being the best of the civilization/city builders.
I've played Caverna, Suburbia, and Le Havre. I love Le Havre tremendously, and Suburbia is fantastic as well. From my one play of Caverna, I'm not yet sure how much I like it, but I definitely do enjoy it. I think I'm going to like it better than Agricola, but not for as long as Agricola. (I think Agricola has more depth in the long run, though Caverna is better in the short run. I don't know how long that "short run" is, it might be quite a while.)

I currently work at a board game store. We had a few copies come in, and I couldn't really afford it anyhow, but seeing them there all on hold for people who called in, it was painful.
So, who's going to BGG.Con this year? I know of a few people who are going that have been on these boards in the past. Who else is in? It's always the highlight of my year - my wife and I make it a point to go every time. (This will be our 7th year, I think.)

Maybe, but I think I'd rather use my vacation days for MS meets.
I was just on an episode of Dicetower Showdown! It'll be up in a couple weeks, I think. The topic was whether or not CCGs are a good model for games to follow. I flubbed a bit and my partner was very quiet, but I enjoyed it.
Hello! I'm still fairly new to the site, but I play a lot of boards games! I run a club where we just buy board games and play a lot. Been into Smash Up! and Carcassonne recently.
What are some good ones I probably haven't played yet? Some popular ones among this group?
Innovation is pretty great; I've been enjoying Tales of the Arabian Nights a lot recently, though.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
