^ Yup, all that. The ramp is mostly irrelevant, but you can avoid it. The hero power does everything... not all at once but you do get to choose.
Mage is AMAZING if it gets spell cards and kinda crap without them... the good thing is most of the spell cards are common/basic so you get a lot of chances at them.
And reck. What you're describing is not you winning the game. That's the other guy losing the game because he didn't get out his own plays to counter you (most of the time).
must've been a ton of shit to choose from but that happens in arena.
your late game is pretty shit, but if you can tempo hard enough it shouldn't matter too much. basically just have an assassinate when their threats finally come.

Yeah I finished with 8 wins. Wound up playing 3 paladin decks back to back and just got rolled.
Headcrack was a surprising all-star. With the curve so low, I could combo it off every turn for a recurring two damage. It literally was the only reason I won a couple of really close games.
That's probably my issue with rogue. I don't try to win early, i try to win late. It does work, so long as i don't epicfail on drawing plays up to turn 4 - i can just make 1 for 1 trades of the 2 drop and the 3 drop if i actually put them out and win with tons of 5+ drops.

That's pretty much how my life is. I have been playing arena non-stop since I have a few hundred in gold.

- Don't play Mirror Image, it's bad.
- Absolutely play two Arcane Missiles if you only have basic cards, it's good.
- Absolutely play two Frostbolts, they're great. 2 mana for 3 damage that has a useful secondary effect against fatties/'late game.
- Frostwolf Grunt, Ironfur Grizzly, Silverback Patriarch, Stormwind Knight are all pretty bad creatures.
Actually why don't I just type out the basic mage deck I used one sec
Couple of things to consider when playing this deck:
- You can use your hero power on your own Gurubashi Berserker to give it +3 attack
- Bluegill Warriors should usually be used as removal (aka, slam them into something to kill something bigger)
- Hold Acidic Swamp Ooze back against classes that love weapons (Rogue; Warrior; Hunter; Paladin). Otherwise, you can play them on curve.
- Deck strategy is to chip away at their health bar and slowly beat them down until they're in range for something like a buffed fireball + frostbolt. You want to basically surprise them and catch them off guard and kill them off in one turn when they're under about 15 health
