That role is definitely useful, in that it gains you information about what the town is doing that can help you work out what happened overnight, and protects you from vig kills, but it's much more marginal.
For the record, if a JK jails a scum, is there not a NK?

There's no NK if the scum you jailed is the scum who tried to perform it. In any game which could potentially have a JK (which is pretty much every game ever, apart from some Opens), the mod asks scum to volunteer one member to actually perform the kill. That particular scum member can be tracked to the kill, and jailing/roleblocking them stops the kill. Tracking or roleblocking other scum will have no effect.

A side effect of this is that Town Trackers/Roleblockers/JKs become much more powerful when there's only one scum left, because the scum can no longer work around them by sending someone unlikely to be targeted to perform the kill.

So if I were to go "@MOD: Does that announcement have anything to do with X's alignment", the answer would be "No"?
And that role can be scum?

Given how no one would ever ask, that's basically an IC who can be scum.

IC ACTIVATE
" in the thread to become modconfirmed town.

Modnote: Doesn't actually work, posting IC ACTIVATE will do nothing.

I think that's more a

, since weak goes with having a targeting action.

I remember a game on another side where one player had this role. There was actually no mafia, but a reasonable number of people flipped mafia due to the role.

The role was worded a lot more vaguely, in a way that the player thought he was Vanilla Town. It was funny.

Each night you must target a player and attempt to "convert" them. This attempt will fail, exactly as if your target had been rolestopped. You may not attempt to target this player again during the game.

If a night starts and there is no player alive you can attempt to convert, you will realise the error of your ways and leave the game. Let's agree to call that a win.

Basically, it's like an survivor-finder. You plant the fruits on players you suspect are going to survive until endgame, and hope they do! Finally you wouldn't be cursing your ill-fortune at being in a game with lots of VIs who are too obv-town to lynch and too stupid to be night killed. Would prob have to be able to give multiple fruit at least on night one.
