Are you asking because you can't figure it out yourself? Your demonstration of no knowledge about how this game works leads me to that conclusion...

First, after any player is lynched we analyze his posts with the new knowledge of the role reveal. If he is scum, look for suspicious interactions with the other players. If he is town, you can trust that his logic was meant to out scum, rather than distract.

Second, we examine the voting players. Were any votes placed with little reason? Who didn't vote on that player? why? ...and so on.

The "can a mafia kill mafia" question leads me to beleive you have no clue what is going on. Would you please read some of the other threads, maybe a FAQ, than get back to us?

If you are so suspicious of Remus, why did you vote for
CES
? You sure do love bandwagoning.

I assume Mafia can only kill Mafia. Anyways, if you look a few pages earlier, I suspected CES when I joined as Caddock's replacement. I even voted on him; although I said it was a day for random accusations, it wasn't THAT random. He just looked more suspicious to me.

Theoretically, the Mafia could kill a Mafiate at Night, although considering it is in this setup always a bad move, for all intents and purposes they can only kill good guys.

Also, considering it's "Newbie" Day, I will, in the grandest tradition of International Mafia Day Month, compliment Nocmen, Eldarion and Peter Venkman's play. (You can be a bit paranoid at times though, Peter.) It is of a higher quality than I encounter in most newbie games.

Now a ranger, I think you need to put some more thoughts into your posts. Don't be afraid to ask!
Scumchat is awesome. Yarr!

<sigh>

During the Day phase,
anyone
can be lynched.

During the Night phase, the scum players decide who to kill.

You appear to have a lot of time on your hands right now (you keep responding to my posts). I would suggest you use that time to read through a few finished games. I would skp past the first page where roles have been revealed, and try to "guess" each person's role. It can be fun!

Yes, I read a few games yesterday. I'm just not the fan of boring games sometimes. This game isn't boring though; it's pretty mind boggling how much thinking Mafia has. I'm a more constipated kind of person anyways, and I'm still as newbie as can be.

Actually, I'm learning about logarithms in my AoPS problem solving book, and typing questions and posting and asking friends online, so I can check around this website every 5 or 6 minutes, maybe 10 to 15.

Thanks for the compliment CES. Forgive the following, as it isn't personal.

CES
> You are lurking to the extreme. Way to pop in, not respond to your accusation, not add any new content, and try to subtly discredit me by calling me "paranoid." My votes have been few and far between, and quite focused.

I think he just posted nice goody-2-shoes things to make you not want to go into more intense "scum-hunting." and also lynch him.

Maybe it's a clue he's mafia? and doesn't have a defense?

You're not content-heavy in this game, in case you accidentally scum tell probably. Therefore, people who are non-scum don't know what you are. Also, the less you say, the less you're suspicious. However, you made yourself suspicious in the beginning, and it looks like you aren't posting much or defending any of the accusations against you.

BTW, 2 of these 3 are mafia.

Remus and Nocmen never took their votes off me. They are the mafia.

If one of them is not, then CES is. Trust me on that.

I really dont know what to say about now a ranger's play. Im pretty sure he just hammered himself...which sort of leads me to think he was not taking this game seriously, which might also be a town-tell or a scum-tell. This is not making sense, and all that I know, as Peter pointed out, he could be purposly misleading with his posts. But why would he vote himself?

All I can say is that he is really making me consider both sides of everything he said.

And Thanks for the compliment CES. This may be one of my first games on this site, but I have played a bit IRL and a long time ago on GL.

I never took my vote off you, now a ranger, because your antics seemed misleading at all times as I mentioned before and several other times. You seem to not make sense with where you are going, and as I said in my last post, I agree with Peter in that you either learned alot about the game pretty quickly these past two days, or you knew what you were doing in order to mislead everyone.

Aye. My vote would have come off of you, Ranger, had you ever acted like a townie.

I've been learning A LOT these past few days. Where is the moderator? He has to say I'm dead, and my role. Surprising. It's too late now for the several of you to cover up for your actions. :(

It's been an awesome learning experience though....

You left us with nothing. Worse off than before. You were at three votes and I didn't hammer. You unvoted yourself, than I put you at three, hoping that if you were town we weould at least learn something from the hammer.

Way to mess that up too.
