I won my standard pauper round again, now 5-1. Game 1 was unusual in that I actually beat flickergate with damage, which never happens. Game 2 I kept drawing answers but couldnt deal with the stream of archaeomancer into gravepurge. I dealt with the first set and then he drew his second copy and I was sad. Game 3 I drew three curses but not enough things to deal with his dudes and won a tight race thanks to a bunch of thought scours lowering the clock for him. Literally won by one turn.

Yeah more than most, this set has a lot of solid mid-tier cards. I don't think there are any Deathritd Shamans in this deck, but there are definitely some Abrupt Decays.
drafted tonight, pulled UG scryland pack 1, picked a Gray Merchant over it. forced black, ended up with 2 shipwreck singers, three merchants, some other decent stuff. snapped a Purphoros P2P1 (no good black in the pack thank god), and p3 passed nothing special. did take something (forget what) over a BW scryland sadly.
went 2-1, pulled a Daxos and Tyramet in prize packs. yay for meh commander rares I guess
also built white weenie for standard. don't care if it's not great, it'll be fine to kill a few rounds between standard (7pm) and draft (9-9:30pm) at my store. it's fun too, so

Although I didn't run it(work), my friend took my UB list to FNM tonight. The only changes from the last list were moving Spiral to the side for the DDemon again. He went 3-1, coming in fourth overall. Won vs white weenie, mono red, UWR control lost to this weird ass BR reanimator thing. I'm trying to get that list from him--apparently it involved main deck Tymaret, the Murder King and Tenacious Dead @_@

no Purphoros? Awesome synergy with assemble and elspeth, and if you're running Reckoners/dargons/chandra/assemble he'll probably be a creature. I'd find space for one or two.

Doesn't seem that good to me. In case you hadn't noticed, this deck isnt an aggro deck. Assemble and Elspeth don't need synergy with anything. They're just going to win the game on their own.
Why dont you like swallower?
It blanks so many cards like smiters and morters, holding down the ground better than anything else in that slot could. In the late game it can become huge, but thats really just a bonus.
