From what I've seen compared to NA, they are different. Fnatic is staying a top team, because they are playing a game where they play the map. It's not flashy, it doesn't show off great teamfight prowess for example, but it's apparently hard to deal with. But if you play in the LCS, teams are going to play you often and try to figure out ways to deal with you. That is/was not a quick process. But a couple of teams managed. And there were a couple of games like the one they started off here where they lost early and couldn't get back in.

Gambit has always had that they peaked at tournaments, while in between teams knew they could take them. I seem to remember AAA season two saying "well, we actually have a positive winrate against them in between tournaments, we know how to deal with them". A competition like LCS shows their weaker periods to the public, also with the experiments they had there (with mixed results, jungle karma).

LD is got top of the standings because where others dropped games, they remained consistent throughout the competition. But where you kind of expect Gambit to step it up when it matters, and it's not beyond expectation that people who didn't play against Fnatic before as much struggle against them, who knows what LD does on a real big stage. It's not that weird that people expect less from them.

So it's more or less hard to compare because of the way gambit seemed to approach the LCS, and the way fnatic is trying to win games.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

what was special/weird was how forced Gambit's response to fnatic was this morning. It felt like they were trying to brute force a solution with the shyvana pick and how they used it.

I don't think putting Shyv into the 1v2 with a Xin jungle was a smart choice vs Zac and Aatrox. Diamond couldn't dive top or hold turret bot. While Diamond made great use of his time with the early counterjungling, I don't think that it was optimal vs playing standard where they would have been able to control both top and bot (Shyv's early laning is terrifying and MF/Sona beats Varus/Leona if Sona doesn't get hit by Zenith Blade).

Also, Yellowstar was amazing on Leona.

SKT1 was unsure of GG.EU's exact team comp and strengths, so was waiting for an obvious mistake that they could capitalize on (and maintaining vision). They found their mistake, and capitalized.

TSM trying to argue that they're still in control of their destiny with an excellent win over Lemondogs. At the moment this is true, but a loss against SKT1 puts their destiny out of their control, and historically TSM does not get going unless Regi is winning. 2v1 mids suck now that you can't fast-push mid tower successfully, so I'm not sure what Regi's strategy is going to be. TOO camp mid again, I suppose, but I can't see that going quite as well as it did against Nukeduck.

TSM have had literally dozens of prime-time games footage of SKT1, and weeks to know that SKT1 was the scariest thing in their group for them, so lets see if they've got an ace up their sleeve. And what that ace is (hopefully not another Syndra vs Faker pick, that's been tried like 4 or 5 times so far).

Maybe they'll pull a wildcard. Make good on the Regi top Dyrus mid.

Regi Karthus top, Dyrus Soraka mid. GG.

As a European i just gotta love Group B. :D Sad that LD aren't doing better, but it's to be expected, they're a new team with little to no expirience on big events. They'll be a powerhouse eventually guaranteed.

Despite NA pride I am hoping to see Gambit or Fnatic crush TSM later on if TSM make it through (after Dyrus's comments).

TSM was actually doing pretty well, but Dyrus getting behind and dem facechecks were too much. Also, Oddbro did great, but he could have gotten two extra kills if he used his flash better. In a close game like that, it might have been enough to turn it around.

But I still have to give credit to SKT1. Their vision control was some of the best I've ever seen, and while TSM did facecheck, SKT put them in a position where they almost had to facecheck to avoid giving up objectives.

Having said that, I betcha Balls wouldn't have gotten behind like that on Rumble, C9 would have controlled dragon better, and Meteos would have gotten those two kills. Just sayin.

I don't think anyone would mind if they had to watch OMG vs C9 or SKT vs C9. Those could be epic. I wouldn't shed a tear if TSM didn't make it through, and I don't know how many would.

I have no feelings towards TSM and I think Regi is a cocky asshole. Nevertheless, I am a red-blooded (north) American and I will shamelessly root for any team from my region.

Granted, if it were TSM-without-Regi, I'd probably be more amicable.
