I thought the story was fine throughout except for the fetchiness of the 20-35 window.Last edited by Iecerint on Fri Oct 04, 2013 7:03 am, edited 1 time in total.-

There are some really terrible ones.
I had one wearing level 41 equipment in Sastasha earlier who didn't even tag additional mods. Healer took hate with a single cure.
I think it's because people level to 50 with FATEs and don't know how to play their job.-

i think its because people are used to WoW wherein tanks are given 50 million ways of free threat generation and you have toactually physically be unable to press buttonsto lose aggro in most pug dungeons-

I finished the main game, too, as of a few hours ago. I tried one pick-up Ifrit HM fight, but we wiped twice and then a DD left. That's all for me until the end of the month.
I'm planning to get all my classes to 15 next. Then I'll pick another class to take to 50, probably Warrior.-

The economy doesn't make much sense to me. Everything important can be NPC'd, and the main uses for gil are gilsinks like transportation and equipment repair.
I know people on the official forums have made cases that deflation will occur as the influx of players wanes, because each new main questline runthrough brings in a lot of gil. I guess this means I should keep everything liquidated.-

The main issue with the economy is the lack of introduction of cash into the system (this is similar to but not the same sort of theory of higher wages for low-level workers increasing economic growth in the real world by preventing cash from stagnating in bank accounts of the rich), which combined with the number of things that take cashIn post 233, Iecerint wrote:The economy doesn't make much sense to me. I guess this means I should keep everything liquidated.outof the system (vendor costs are complete removal) will eventually cause prices in the player-run economy to crash due to people being unable to afford premiums for luxury items (to the point where, combined with the ease of leveling crafting/gathering, might even cause people to just say "i'll craft it myself"), which in turn means that the people doing the crafting/gathering in the marketplace's margins go through the floor, which means that there will likely be a large portion who say fuck it due to lack of return on investment and start crafting solely for themselves. This creates its own loop - eventually, prices will either be so bargain-basement that the only people left doing crafting/gathering are essentially charities, or nobody will be able to afford goods due to the basic inability to even afford crafter/gatherer labor costs (the amount of money the crafters/gatherers need to make it worth their time).
There's a theory that this has been done intentionally in order to drain cash out of legacy servers prior to opening those up to new character creation. That would make sense for those servers, but it's probably going to cause irreparable harm to the fledgling economies of non-legacy servers (or at least a massive crash that will likely take either a long period of time to recover from or some sort of absurd money generation tactic to be found).
Keep your money in gold, folks.-

Totally got all my DoW/DoM classes to at least 15 (ARN - 50 and THM 30) also got Weaving up to 35.
I am shocked at how many cheaters there are already, people teleporting to nodes to mine them, I reported 4 people just yesterday doing this lolFlayTheScum 1:33 am

Papalymo and Yda have really terrible VAs. Uncommonly bad.
It's sad, because the VAs were so great in 1.0. Especially Yda. But then SE was freaked out at the game failing again.
But Y'shtola's voice is great, and Merlwyb's is OK, too, if you can let yourself enjoy the campy melodrama. Limsa ftw.
I've started with crafting in the last few days. Actually enjoying it so far. My goal is to get all handjobs to 15 and all landjobs to 20 and then pick.
Last night I got my Ifrit weapon! Hooray for me!-

Frick, how am I supposed to justify levelling carpentry if the guild isnt switching to crafting bonuses until 13 days from now.
Guess I'll just hoard all my mats until then.
Really Crafting bonuses should be like a weekly thing for a day. So you can log on, dump all your mats on crafting, etc. Then go back to smashing things.
Tans are you on Gilga? Whats your name? Nalem Romandi here.-

Yeah, you should focus on war/magic jobs til the 15th, then maybe deal with crafts after that. You can probably hit 50 in 2 weeks without much fuss. Dan is already over halfway there in a week.
