It would. I'm kinda afraid to unleash that hydra upon ms.

^I want to see that hydra. Sounds fun.

I didn't want to use my fakeclaim because my fakeclaim was jailer which at that point would have been fucking stupid to claim. "Hmm, all these kills are going through but we have a jailer, what's going on here?"

Although I guess I could have no-killed for WIFOM, but that would have been risky, and I still would have had to claim actions that weren't "Oh, I protected Orc every round except when that would have prevented us from NKing looks like I need an excuse to switch..."

So long as you agree to never ever EVER mention an ongoing game inside another one I forgive you.

I usually get away with it by writing something like,

Well, in this [ONGOING GAME I CANT TALK ABOUT] there's things I could use to refute you.

This is not allowed. If it could be perceived as referencing an ongoing game, no matter how obliquely, no matter how much obfuscation you're trying for,
do not do it
.
Talking about ongoing games is expressly against site rules
, and that includes any loopholes you might be thinking about.

Don't damage game integrity and ruin someone else's game for the sake of a read. We are heavy on punishing that behavior for a reason.

Even if the player you're referencing already flipped? Hypothetically.

Aaah, right on then. Then I shall not talk about other games, or even mention that I might want to talk about other games. Fairnuff

Because I mean, let's be honest, you could still somehow accidentally reveal their teammates or something.

It is still an ongoing game. The answer is still No.

True, fair enough.
Although, there's nothing stopping people from searching other games I am currently in and looking at them right? They just can't mention them.

All right, thanks for the clarifications

I can only use those in 'secret reads' but not as evidence then.

You're allowed to think whatever you want, and search whatever you want. But what happens in a game thread stays in a game thread until the moment the mod declares the game over, regardless of whether you are a participant in it.

While we are at it, calling things "secret reads (due to blah)" is also an oblique reference.

In short: don't be an ass. Referencing ongoing games creates a lot of trouble for the mod(s), for the players, for the Skittles. You wouldn't want the integrity of a game you spent a lot of time and dedication designing/playing damaged because someone thought their argument needed a push from an ongoing game--so don't do it yourself. Happier Skittles, happier players, happier mods.

I agree on this point.
I'd like games to be fun before anything, and games getting stalled for technical issues/having to find replacements is not that much fun.

How does talking about an ongoing game in another game cause technical problems and replacements?

I understand how it skews reads, but rules aside I don't think it causes something as serious as a game stall?

If you're breaking the rules, you either get force-replaced or modkilled (the latter if the slot is compromised). That right there is going to create problems. And skewing reads is problematic. If a player thinks their read on someone who is mentioning an ongoing game is irreparably damaged, the morally correct thing to do for those players is to inform the mod of the situation and then replace out to avoid compromising the game
further
. Skewing reads
does
compromise the game. You're bringing in outside influences.

Don't do it. We have a lot of experience with how this damages games, the rules exist for a reason. You don't need to know all the details of WHY it's bad to reference ongoing games, just use common sense and follow the rules.

quite unfortunately i'm pretty sure that it was your overmodding that damaged this game, not metal sonic

but it's okay i guess you did what you needed to do, i actually would've thought that the game should've been suspended until metal sonic came back, but whatever, satisfying finish i suppose
