The Cheery Dog kill is interesting, though, I must admit. He was pretty against lynching both Grim and Mac. I think I could see it as just trying to kill the towniest-looking player and CD was more or less that, perhaps, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't nag at me a bit.

How does the Cheery Dog-kill point to The Trollie?
I'm always wary of analyzing kills like this, what we do then is we see who's killed,s ay what they said before, and then decide. But whoever killed him based their decision on what they read before as well. And from there everything depends on what happened in thier mind, which is a closed box for town.
