I investigated Thesp, and got town.
I tried to kill Shadowlurker.
I tried to protect Cogito Ergo Sum.

I thought I was the only one with "power role" O_o. Well, I suppose that I am not a paranoid investigator, but I don't know if my vig is accurate or if my doc is a dud. To be honest shadowlurker, I went sort of randomly with my vig.

Well as a cop, I can be sane, insane, naive, or paranoid. As a doc, I can be true or quack. As a vig, I can be true or firing blanks.

There are 16 possibilities for what your role does.

Lets just ignore that theres a huge chance you're insane. I investigated Zindaras and got scum, but I've yet to vote for him today because I dont know my sanity yet.

I protected CES, but unfortunately, so did Ogrianres so we cant really determine anything with that.

I tried to kill Max as well, though as far as we know, a successful doc protected him.

So basically that doesnt mean anything.

Heh, I suspected this yesterday, considering C.E.S's claim and Twito's reveal.

I have a guilty on Chamber.

It's fairly amusing that half the town tried to vig max, and by some vast advancement in mafia science, he remains alive.

I am unsure why people are revealing that they aren't the doc.

Also, I am unconvinced that this is a Dethy game in the sense that all cop sanities are equal in number.

@Shadow: That Thesp vig looks odd.

This doesn't work for me. although there are 16 possabilities I don't think we had 8 vigs last night, cause 2 deaths doesnt give with that, even with doc protects and cross kills.

Having 8 docs also doesnt work with me, if they figured out they were doc early enough they could circle protect and completely shut out the mafia of ever winning.

I don't know if it was your intention to suggest that all 16, or even most of the 16 possible cases would be represented, but I'm fairly sure we are going to have people with the same combination.

I really hope this game doesn't turn into deathy, and I don't want to give my other info yet, but I'll say that I got a guilty of ctd.

I seem to be replacing into this game for Max.

First and foremost:
Not revealing cop choice (more on this in a bit)
Vigged CTD
Docced Primate

I should say, though, that since Max disappeared, these choices were random, according to the mod. Interesting setup. Cephrir makes a point about sixteen possible sanity/effectiveness combinations and sixteen players. I find this reasonably likely.

Anyway, I did a quick re-read, and I have just a few notes so far:

Coron's giving me a very
strange
vibe. I'm not sure I like the way he is trying to monger everybody's post counts. Coron, could you please explain why you think that your posting suggestions are optimal for the town as a whole?

I very much like the idea of using the voting system to gain multiple lynches. The more we can direct kill choices out in the open, the better our chances of catching scum, I think. People who screw with our lynch candidates, naturally, would be subject to getting killed. Repeatedly.
The only potential pitfall I see with this plan is that people who are being considered for lynch can and likely will switch votes around during near-lynch situations, in an attempt to survive.

I'm not entirely sure that we are going to be able to make much use out of the cop roles. Three players are dead and never got to reveal any results. At least one (assuming no No-Lynch) and possibly as many as five or six (if there are multiple effective vigilantes) players will die before they get to reveal a second result. Sanity will be
very
difficult to determine. I would suggest that, unless somebody has two DIFFERENT results (i.e., a scum result and a town result), that they
keep their results to themselves
. Once you have the dual results, you can probably go ahead and reveal them, since we would know that one of the two players in question would be scum (barring any potential Godfather shenanigans, which I find unlikely at best).

Re: Chamber. If there are 8 vigilantes and 8 docs, and none of us know whether we are effective, I don't think it's possible to determine that until much,
much
later into the game. Hypothetically speaking, let's say you try to vig Katy and I try to protect her. If she doesn't die, then one of three possibilities still holds true:
You're an effective Vig, but I'm an effective Doc.
You shoot blanks, and I am a quack.
You shoot blanks, and I am an effective Doc.
Not really any way to determine what is what until much later in the game.

And even then, there could certainly be one or more scumbags who can doc protect. So the "doc protect circle" likely wouldn't break the game open, even if it
were
possible to determine for sure.

I think we should just keep trying to shoot at people we think are scum, protecting people we think are pro-town, and copping whoever the hell we feel like copping.

...okay, so that turned out a bit longer than expected. No vote for now; I'd like to hear people respond to some of the things I've brought up.

I just read through the whole thread, and for once, I actually agree with Coron (try not to be too surprised). Lack of posting does not denote townieness in this game, and it's NOT a game "for lurkers" as some people have tried to assert. We now know a lot more today than we did Day One (roles not being revealed, the weird sanity/efficacy problem), and I don't think that multiple lynches are the way to go unless we can prove several sanities at once.

Unvote: CES, Vote: HurriKaty
as someone with two guilty investigations so far, and a rather lackluster defense against the first one.

My guidelines for posting were made with this in mind:
A) we have a limited number of posts per day.
B) making people say more game relevent stuff is good because it makes it easier to determine whether people are scum.
C) hoping the day wouldn't end before most people had used most of their posts.

C might not actually happen because this game is looking more and more like a lurker fest.

I think all of my guidelines should, given these be fairly self explanatory as to why they are good for town. If you have any specific questions, you may ask them specifically.

Is there an official agreement that claiming our targets/results is a good idea?

If people doc'd people that died they will be revealing non-doc status, narrowing down who could be our doctors.

However if it does happen to be the 16 different role game, knowing the investigation and proven non-doc or not of someone would be useful. There are advantages to both sides.

For now I think I will
