For those who do not know, the above Mod "VoxelMap" is in every way equivalent to Zan's Minimap, which is in turn superior in every way to Rei's Minimap. (at least IMHO)

Zan's Minimap function operates properly in the Nether, its cave mapping is superior, and its entity radar shows not only Mod alignment (neutral/hostile) but also the EXACT type of Mob you may encounter. of course all of these things are configurable, and if you think these features are overpowered or unbalanced that is a separate issue - but we've had them enabled on the server for a little while now and since nobody has complained I would assume that Zan's (since it is superior in its handling of all these functions) would also be the better choice for the server as a Minimap Mod.

Also, for those who frequent the IRC, the second developer of the Zan's Minimap mod actually frequents our IRC, and has offered comment on the modding history between Rei's and Zan's Minimap. You're perfectly free to corroborate this story with lahwran on the IRC on your own time, but it is my understanding that Rei's stole all of his original code early on from the developing Zan's Minimap, which has since only seen a resurgence in popularity after it was adopted by the Voxel guys and included in their packs.

I'd much rather support the original than a hackneyed, unsupported, badly-ripped off carbon-copy, but we wanted you all to have input on this. :D

After a bit of discussion amongst the admin team, we decided to put this up for a vote:

Creeper Collateral

Gist of this mod- Creepers still explode, but all the blocks it booms is dropped. None of them will disappear.

The admins feel that this might nerf creepers slightly too much, making them pointless, once god-tier armor is reached. Another concern: You can actually utilize creepers as tnt and profit. This isn't what creepers are about.

Which makes them worth avoiding/killing quickly. I am strongly against adding this mod.

I feel that creepers is such a major part of minecraft too.

Maru, you yourself said we need to make the game challenging and don't give players easymode stuff. Nerfing creepers IS easymode stuff, so...

Yeah, no. Even if absolutely everyone was ok with such a massive creeper nerf, that's a jar mod. Which means it's likely to break itself and/or forge, either immediately or at some point in the future.
(Mostly) on hiatus until further notice. Planet MafiaScum 2 will be modded by Inspi and JDGA - go check it out!

Voxelmap was the minimap on the laptop server, right? if so, YES! it is awesome and better than REI's


I have no opinion on the creeper proposal, other than NO to delete the creeper.

MiniMap Change: No Objections at all. Just so long as we have a MiniMap, I'm good.

Creeper Change: Yes. At least if you get surprised by a Creeper while building, you just have to put it back together, you don't have to go looking for replacements for any blocks that may have been destroyed. It is not really nerfing the Creeper even, a herd of Creepers can still set you back tremendously on building things.

Why yes, they still can...for about as long as it takes you to physically put a bunch of blocks back together. As long as they don't destroy something like a full Redstone Energy Cell, their overall danger is completely nullified by this Mod and this
