Google hangout would probably be better for this, I'm up for trying.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.
Well we played 2 games of Arkham Horror. Hastur fucking KILLED us in game 1. Partly because we forgot to put the fucking clue tokens on the board and drew fairly shitty characters 2. I was left fighting him alone as Dram/Mina managed to get devoured just as it started and it was basically impossible for me to put a dent in the fucker.
Game 2 we won. Knowing the rules better helped! Also Mina basically one manned the whole board due to the combination of abilities we drew and sealed 4 gates on her own. Oh, yeah she drew the girl who gets money every turn so had a bunch of money to go buy stuff from the curioisity shop AND she had a thing that made her almost imposible to kill and she was the police deputy and she kept her blessing for a crazy amount of turns, too. TOO MUCH POWER. GG! I died a lot, at really bad times - just when it seemed like I was ready to seal a gate with my clue tokens LOLNO I failed a check of some point. Stll fun, though.
Second game was a lot more fun, although once we sealed the 4th gate it was fairly obvious we'd win due to the board IMO so the ending was boring for me, personally.
are you thinking of me when you're with somebody else?
In fact there is an awesome game designed 20 minute tutorial on youtube to explain the rules. Albeit the first game takes quite the learning curve. It plays 3-6... 4 may be ideal, but then again I've never done 6...(only played a handful of times, got it for my brother for christmas)
Still the game once known is like 3-4 hours (has a 7 turn limit). First one is like 5-6 hours.. Not bad, I'm use to Axis and Allies 6 hour minimum.
Needless to say I highly recommend the game. Its so backstabbingly cool.

Probably looking at 3-4 players on average.
Just trying to get a feel for what other scummers think before I go buy it.
The concept is very cool.. because theirs no luck in dice.

^Give the tutorial a go. It may be a little overwhelming without the rules to refer to.
Also there's helpful quicksheets.

Ah ya it probably helps that most involved are GoT addicts.

I own the GoT board game, and it's awesome! It's what most Risk-like games would have been if they weren't terrible and took way too long and had too much random chance and provided too much opportunity for one person to take over a game and...

I've heard it's ideal with 6 just because then you have everyone in the game and no random empty spaces.

Carcassone is only a light strategy game without expansions (though its fun that most people can compete) adding traders and builders and/or inns and cathedrals makes it a much more robust game, as well as making games a little more satisfying in length. Inns and cathedrals is the expansion I'd get first as its mechanics don't change the game greatly, while traders and builders introduces the builder which introduces an a game changing element. Both, however, have tiles that break up farms, which is a good thing. Stay away from the "silly" expansions like the catapult if you're looking for strategy.
Hey, you GoT owners. They've just released a somewhat book/show spoilery Print to Play expansion designed to be played with 4 players, Feast For Crows. It's a bit more subterfugey than the usual stuff.
