On another note, if you want to run JUST Tinker's Construct, you can do that easily too. Download the same files as above. Don't unzip stuff.

Also, download the Magic Launcher for Minecraft here.

Launch the Magic Launcher. Click "Setup" in the lower left-hand corner. Click "Browse" and select the ZIP file for Forge and then the ZIP file for Tinker's Construct (order on this is important). Make sure that it says "OK" next to both zip files on the list. Then exit that box and launch the game through the launcher. It will apply the mods for you. No FTB launcher needed, no other mods needed. You can install ANY mods this way, but be aware that you need to have Forge or ModLoader for a lot of mods to run properly.

Yeah, MagicLauncher is AMAZING for putting together your own sets of mods.

Also, Tinker's is better balanced than I thought - at a first glance Manyullyn seems like a kind of ultimate endgame god-material, but for picks at least cobalt is actually "better", Manyullyn is just more durable. :]

Also also if you haven't tried Applied Energistics or watched DW20's spotlights for it, I highly recommend you do so. For sorting systems, IMO it's much better than anything RedPower or GregTech could do.

Pretty sure it's just you. Nothing about worldgen on the changlog - and it's the kind of thing that would have to go on there.

ATTENTION, PEOPLE:


After some discussion we have decided that, in most cases, we will
NOT
be moving over items from the old world to the new one. If you feel you have something that should be bought over despite this decision (e.g. Rhinox and his saplings) feel free to PM me about it, but the answer will probably be "no".

The main reason for this is balance; many people, perhaps even the majority, have focused mostly on IC2, RP2, or TC3, none of which will be in the MafiaCraft pack. This means that if we were to let people bring items with them, those who focused on Thermal Expansion or another major mod would be at a massive advantage right from the start.

Instead, when you log in to the new world, you will be able to choose between three different starter kits. The first is an improved version of the one on the current server; it includes some tools, blocks, armor, food, etc., to help you get started. The second is a bundle of raw resources, including most ores that can generate, as well as some wood, stone, and coal. Finally, you can choose to receive almost an inventory-full of various building blocks and decorative items, most of which are full stacks. You may also, of course, choose to play without a starter kit and "punch your own damn trees".

Well, we need to get it working on the dev server, test it for a couple of days, get the pack approved, and prepare a world to be played in. We'll be releasing the code as soon as we have it - the server likely won't be up until a few days after that, but at least you guys can have SSP/creative worlds with the new modpack.

I think it would kind of disjoint the community. I like the chat/IRC/FTBbot set up - to be able to just hop on IRC and follow along with what everyone is talking about.
