You'd rather have the feature to delete items at the press of a button considering the fact that if you click the wrong button you could lose the next item that you click AND if you drag something to the right of the screen you would lose the item instead of drop it to the ground (which has already lost me 2 stacks of UUM). All this in order to get a feature that you could achieve by throwing something in lava or just dropping it on the ground?

I frequently find myself with items I don't want. I'm not always around lava, and it's hell to do something about them in the middle of nowhere.

It's not passive-aggressive, it's me trying to prove a point. This is an anti-feature. When I inevitably lose something important and valuable because of this "feature," I have to wonder if it would be returned to me. I'm guessing the answer would be "no". If it's "yes," then I have no problem with the feature (although I still question why it's necessary).
There's a reason why this feature goes hand in hand with creative mode. If you fuck up with it in creative mode, you can just give yourself back the item. Non-OPs can't do that.
And dav, it's hell to just drop the item on the ground? Now I know you're trolling.

Dav is a lazy fool though. He also plays with a touchpad and not an actual mouse. That being said, I absolutely hate that feature. I can't tell you how many times I have lost something important on my friends server because of that.

why? Its a useful tool that is an alternative to lava'ing an item, because most people don't carry lava with them

Toss them on the ground and let them despawn. Most people are probably running around with NEI open. This WILL result in people throwing away valuable stuff because they forgot or didn't know - or just misclicked.

Is there any way to NOT run around with NEI open? If so, I'm not aware of it (and probably should be due to this feature).

You can use the O button to turn off nei. Im with rob. I don't want this feature.
