I don't like the JS wagon, though. Two of my scumreads and LurkInFreezer? They're tainting your beautiful wagon, and that might be why I'm having a hard time seeing JS as scum.

Please note that Oversoul only recently joined the GG wagon when it became obvious that JS is the likely lynch. Oversoul is absolutely the kind of player to soft-bus when his partner's not in any real danger.

Yeah I'd need more.

I know I never did this even as noobscum, does scum verifiably does that on a regular basis?

I know it's tempting to look at "who's on the wagon" but every time I have succumbed, it didn't pan out. Evidence for scum (without a result) is flimsy at best, so deciding alignment based on who is on the wagon is one degree separated from the scum itself, so it's very, very weak and not proven effective.

If JS is scum, his lynch will lose the game for OS. It's more likely that he was cornered into voting for the competing wagon than hoping we'd all go "oh hey OS is voting GG so JS is probtown." Occam's Razor. OS needs GG to die, and he's protecting JS.

I haven't done the appropriate research, but calling your attackers town can be a way of getting them to cool off, especially if you're afraid that they'll accuse you of OMGUS if you call them scum.

I do think noob scum tends to worry about coming across as OMGUSing more than experienced players, though--- in fact, in general, noob players tend to think about OMGUS more often. (I'd be willing to bet that a direct link could be made between lack of 'OMGUS' accusations and length of experience on the site)

Aping the reads of others is a fairly simple way of "going with the flow" and trying to appear town when you already know peoples' alignments.

And look at this, does this read town? Be honest:

* Your sudden flip flop on Oversoul- you criticized DGB for questioning him, now you think he's scum based on one post. BUT, in post #796, you said you thought Venmar was scum with OS. You did not place your vote on either.
All I can say is that yes, it was a sudden flipflop

* Your sudden flip flop on JS- you were "pretty sure" he was town and flustered by kanye, you even said to leave him alone. But now you think he's scum with OS. mmhmm.
Same thing, that one post, plus me rereading the part where he was posting in other games and stuff made me flipflop. Also, scum
can be flustered.

* Your assumption that the votes on you are for "playing badly" reads like "scum caught for the wrong reason"
Well if I'm town then I have to be playing badly to be a universal scumread.

* At one point you claimed your ONLY solid read was Benmage-town. How the fuck is that possible? After all of the activity in the thread at the time, THAT'S your only strong read?
That was after I missed a day and 7 pages of the game, and when I reread, the only thing that stood out to me was that Ben has to be town.

* You refuse to give reads despite the fact that it's been pointed out many times that this day is our best shot at gathering reads on people
When did I refuse to give reads? I'll give a read on everybody next post.

* Your reads are pretty much follow-the-leader anyway
I already addressed that I am not good at scumhunting, and so most of my game
is
follow the leader.

OS is actually defending JS and voting for the competing wagon.

GG's answers seem pretty guileless and somewhat careless and he seems town to me.

But the biggest scumtell of all, is Feeling Sad For ScumTM.

I noticed myself often making comments about the scum wincon or situation in a game... when I was scum. Now I bite my tongue (or my keyboard), but when I'm scum I still regularly fight the urge to complain about the setup being unfair to scum.

why wouldn't he just complain about it in his QT? or keep it to himself though?

i'm trying to remember if i complained in-thread in WWE attitude mafia about the fact that the other scumteam had a vig (and thus two kills per night to my scumteam's one)

but then again, I didn't find that out until post game, so I thought I was hunting a serial killer

then again, he knew the setup before he signed up--- we all did

why complain after the game starts--- and at that point, no less--- if he didn't get a scum role and realize it was gonna be an uphill fight

oh shit and at the point he said that, Oversoul was already starting to gather suspicion--- he had already been wagoned and I was pushing OS hard by that time

that makes sense, if oversoul was going to be the rabblerouser and flee... then it looked like he was in trouble, of course JS would be upset about that fact--- he loses if OS gets lynched
