I'm going to start playing on Epic Mafia.

too soon?
Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

yeah, EM is just a bunch of stupid monkeys pressing buttons. My experience.

Maybe your problem is just that you never left the sandbox. Forgive me that I ever doubted that EM is far inferior to anything else and that all players from EM are stupid. Lol

I was not talking about sandbox games. But most of it was due this golden rule:

On epic mafia you shall not think while playing a game. Ye shall follow the exact same routine every game you play and ye shall not ask questions or deviate from the prescribed formula.

Basically what zoraster said.

MS isn't that different. Monkeys will be monkeys, wherever you play mafia.

Don't believe it?

Propose a massclaim day one, see what happens. Yes, everybody has heard the argument against it, and can recite it without fail. And nobody actually knows if the argument holds ground.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

My experience on EM = everyone needing to absolve themselves of any responsibility when they lose. I'll admit this happens here too but it happens eeeeeeeeeeevery game there.

This might be what makes the setups they play so popular there -- there's a fairly obvious optimal way to play every game and it's easy to say "Even though I lost I did everything right and player X on my team played suboptimally" when in the end you still lost.

What is the "against" argument?

Hell, what is the "for" argument? :P

the against is that scum get to target powerroles. The in favour is that town get to strategize about the actions and sort out fakeclaims when there are still plenty of mislynches left.

When I started here, there were still some people arguing for it, but it was already far from mainstream then and now it's simply not mentioned anymore.

Same with some other things, mafiascum has it's automatisms just as EM has. Some make sense and some one could question. Claiming as PGO or miller on day one for example. It's a high risk high reward move to not claim and go for the N1 nightkill, but it is talked about as if there is no choice. I'm sure people could find quite a few of those.

*hitoshrug* Everything you do is a choice. Some have higher risk-rewards, but even violating Lynch All Liars has won games here.

Basically: There is a right time for everything. There is also a wrong time for a lot of things. lol

Such as: fake PR claims from townies, fake hammers, lynching L-1 claimers, etc.

yeah, what the hell are you talking about, kuribo?

--

Obi-Wan: Anakin, why do I get the feeling you're going to be the death of me?

--

Obi-Wan: I was beginning to wonder if you'd got my message.
Anakin: I retransmitted it to Coruscant, just as you'd requested, Master. Then we decided to come and rescue you.
Obi-Wan: [looks at his handcuffed hands] Good job.
