So the objective here is to find a way to reduce the likelihood of a successful kill, not find the best way for successful cop investigation. In that case, I agree.

The objective is obviously to take both things into consideration. Anything else is just dumb.

If we lynch we could selectively lynch the people that have supposedly already used their 1-shot ability.

That would work to towns advantage - they can just lynch the claimed doc the following day.

What can they claim at will later that they couldn't have claimed in the first place using either of the other proposed strategies?

Easy example; they can claim "I'm a N1 PR" then nokill and say "I was N1 doctor".
With Nacho's plan they can't do that, if they fakeclaim N1 cop they'll have to provide results and eventually get caught.

With Nacho's plan they get caught if the claimed cop dies and they claimed a doc. With my plan they get caught if the claimed other person dies and they claimed a doc. It's the exact same thing except with my plan they don't know beforehand if that other person is a cop or a doc.

And both of our plans suffer as soon as the doc isn't forced to protect one specific person. Since always protecting one specific person freely allows scum to hit any other person and be succesful, both of out plans will probably be exploitable in this regard. I don't think we can be proof against scum fake-claims.

How are you ever going to do something about scum fakeclaiming cop? That's a problem no matter what - plan or no plan. Like I said: I don't think we can do anything about scum fakeclaims and it would be pretty broken anyway if scum couldn't fakeclaim.

We would lynch the previous doc in case the cop who that doctor was supposed to protect got killed.

Only if the doc is going to protect that cop more than 50% of the time. If it's more than 33% but less than 50% then two cops can out. If it's more than 25% and less than 33% then three cops can out, etc.

1 claimed cop = scum get wifom'd on whether to kill him or not, and any other unclaimed cops get their investigations in.
many claimed cops = scum select one to kill, doctor might select someone else. Not as likely that the scum kill will fail.

Like I said it only matters if the doc protects the cop more than 50% of the time. If he protects the cop less, he can just protect both of them that percentage of the time.
