Going to say why I support the idea: Because it sounds like fun and we get to fuck with the scum. they'll have to use their brains. and I like the mix up. Those who support it: Why?

I support it because it protects our most important asset: early night cops. That's pretty much it.

Say x claims N1 cop.
Scum will have to consider killing x. If there are N1 doctors, they will risk their kill failing. If there aren't, the cop will die.

Now if x never claimed, scum will have to kill someone at random, who will most likely not be x. Which means x will investigate without problems.

Point being, early cops might be better protected without claiming.

This plan might work best later, with less people alive. Now there are 13 people alive, meaning 9/10 possible targets for scum (depending on the lynch), so I don't get why we should tell scum who the cop is when they just have 1/9 or 1/10 chance to get it right.

In that case, a N1 doctor might claim, but there might not be N1 cops. Meaning free kill for scum N1 who otherwise could have targetted someone that the unclaimed N1 doctor protected and thus fail.

Also forces scum to lock into a claim and deal with it

I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages

I think the best thing we can't do is only make the cops claim, so all the available docs for that night if any, will know who to protect but scum will be in the dark if there is any doc for that night or not so they have to take even higher risks.

Doc claim --> Cop claim --> Scum choose to kill someone else --> Cop investigates town --> Scum kill N2 cop.

As scum, you are more passive, though you retain an attacking edge. You like to convince people that you are right, and you often get along with strong town figures.
As town, you are hellbent on lynching the person you deem scummiest.
