I'd be up for that, I don't have a HUGE amount of experience but I usually play 4/5 as well, occasionally dabble in the other roles but they're not my best.

id be down to give it a try. im most comfortable as 1 and can 2/5 if thats the way it lands. but im super hit and miss with 3/4.

I need to go shopping today for a bit, but I'm down to play with you when I get home. The game is just complex, you just need to play it till you know most things.

Right now is a good time to get into it, the International 3 is coming up (The big Valve sponsored yearly tournament.)

The best way to play is with friends, so definitely do if you can. I have an invite or two if you have someone else who wants to play but doesn't have an invite.

I just need to practice my mechanics, and mostly the one that League doesn't. I have a really tough time using pets or switching between groups because I've neer had to do it before.

Edit: Is there a possibility I could become a good player, but ignore champions that need to use these groups and switch between pets and themselves? Honestly, right now I'm really attracted to becoming an Offlaner, as the heroes that are good at that are closer to the ones I play in LoL.

I play a ton of Dota, and I'm still not all that great at most of them. (Visage comes to mind.)

I do suggest it be something you work on over time, but for now you're fine just playing non-micro heroes.

Control groups are a huge part of microing.

Edit: Some heroes like Brewmaster are super easy to micro though, it'll switch heroes with tab and once you know what each of your panda elementals do, it's easy peasy.

I mostly play windrunner because she's super easy and she reminds me of the AD carries in league.

Windrunner is awesome, good choice. Probably one of the most versatile heroes, she can play basically any role.

I also really like Mirana. I played Skeleton King earlier and he was decent. I've just been playing people willy-nilly. Furion is mad cool but mirco-ing the trees hurts my feelings. Lion fucking sucks but when you stun someone and then give them the finger of death and they die, you're like "LOL YOU'RE DEAD", it's pretty damn funny but you can only do it like..once every 3 minutes.

Lion is okay. Depends who you're up against.

Don't really need to micro trees that much, just select them and attack ground, easy peasy

Just played a second game with Lion, I did really well and I was around more squishy people to be like "LOL R, I WIN!!!

^Exactly. You play against Weaver pre-linkins, so good.

Lion is good late-game, hex hurts.

I should play lion someday. Don't think I've ever randomed him yet in dota2, funny enough.

I had this one time where I randomed 12 times in a row and 7 of those randoms were Lion

it was horrible cause they made me do the 5 and it was sad

Lion as 5 would be fine though I'd imagine. All you need is a bracer, wand and good positioning awareness (and possibly a gem depending on opposing team).

All you need is good team mates and one who knows how to carry.

Also apparently the dude who plays Ender in Ender's game posts frequently on the Dota 2 reddit and plays Dota 2 a lot. Fun fact.

Well yeah, you always need good teammates if you're playing pubs.
