I don't think killing someone without permission should be grounds for a permaban personally, at least in the first instance - maybe a tempban if the intent is malicious. Perhaps if we want this server to be truly community-driven rather than admin-driven, this is something we should discuss?

PS: M, if you or izak do need any guidance as to what is set up already/how to use any of it/how to do anything I did I would be more than willing to pass on the knowledge friend to friend as I have done for others in the past

The plugins are configured and there's an automatic backup system already in place, right?

p sure. look in the FTP /backups folder see if the most recent date/time stamps are of recent dates/times.


If not multicraft is set up to run auto backup commands if you configure it (in advanced i think under timed commands or something like that), and I have multicraft set up to keep up to 30, so if you set for daily backups that keeps a month.

In other worlds, which is the favored mode (in terms of not loading the server) of chunkloading? Is the default chunkloader (enchant table+gold+ender pearl) OK? I remember we had this discussion before, but I don't know if it is still current.

I'd say we let this slide, but only if maru promises to not pull stupid shit like this again and be mature about it next time.

If Maestro and Izak are new sole owners then I suppose I can get over this and stick with the server. They can decide on whats best for hosting whether to accept maru's hosting offer or move elsewhere. Just keep independent backups (which is good practice regardless of who the host is)(yes give clauss access). I don't care either way whether maru is de-whitelisted as a player. The FTB server exists because he was bored with this server and doesn't care about it anyways.

world wouldn't have been lost, there are commands in game to just roleback spawntown and nothing but spawntown, and I had tested commands previously, as well as tested to make sure they could roleback up to a month prior.

So how did this rollback actually work? Was it just a spawntown rollback or a whole-server rollback? If I hop on the server later am I going to find myself where I was with the same items and exp I had before I logged on yesterday or what? While playing yesterday I had moved a nearly full inventory of stuff I moved to a chest that I don't want to find missing, and I also had a few stacks of less valuable items I was on my way to recover after a death when I came across cratered spawntown and then the rollback happened while my items were still in an unloaded chunk waiting for me to go get them.

Dynmap is unusable right now and needs fixed. Ironically, the reason I even went to spawntown last night is because dynmap is broken, but I'd still really appreciate if it got fixed. Its not just the markers, all the coordinates are screwed up. I was at my cathedral in skytown, but the dynmap had my icon somewhere else. Also, where the skytown blocks (or any landmark) is on the dynmap, the coordinates given don't actually match with the in-game coordinates. So it doesn't tell you where you are, and it isn't able to tell you how to get anywhere.

I tried creating a single player creative world using our seed so I could fly around and find an appropriate island to go build my maze on, but between the dysfunctional dynmap and the terrain/biome generation changes that have occurred since this world was created I wasn't actually able to find any any familiar landmarks to orient myself by. I know where a village and desert pyramid are, in chunks that were just generated a couple weeks ago before my computer broke, but I couldn't find them in the creative world. Was our world generated with the normal world generation option, or large biomes? or weren't those options when the world was created. Is it even possible to recreated the vanilla seed anymore fresh?

Yes and no. There were some biome generation changes, so the general landmass would be the same, but the older biomes will be different. The newer chunks should be the same.

The seed used is "numbat", and the spawn was artificially moved to its current location (It was originally closer to Maze 3, me and MME moved it to the mountains near the village).

World generation has changed quite a bit since we originally generated the world, so I don't think it can be duplicated anymore, since it's a conglomeration of a couple of methods of world generation as you move away from spawn.

tl;dr, claus can't have SSH without compromising the security of my business, but he can have FTP. ftp can be configured by M without me or corin assisting.

SFTP (more secure or some shiz?) can be done but corin will get mad at me if we do it because it makes a security risk in M's server.

Uuuh, that is not exactly true -- FTP passes password around in plaintext and is generally insecure. SSH can be made secure (else there wouldn't be Virtual Hosts). SFTP simply didnt work with commandline scripts last time we tried it

Anyway, here is a no-account needed alternative: make a wgettable symbolic link to the latest world backup, and I will set up a script to download it every day. But if it is too much of a hassle, just forget about it, not a big deal.
