Correction to my previous statement: while I see no valid point to this experiment other than to rouse the community, and while I do not agree with the methods, I acknowledge that no permanent damage was done. That being said, others are already expressing their "extreme displeasure" with this turn of events (which is, itself, an understatement of what I'm hearing from TBone/Rhinox/Klazam).

I'm saying this now and I will not change my mind when I say I DO NOT WISH TO BE INVOLVED IN THE FALLOUT FROM THIS EVENT.

I will be around to help out with whatever happens afterward, if anything, (backing up files, resetting homes via tpa, what-have-you) and I will help in any way I can on the actual server (and of course on the Modded Server), but I will not be involved in any discussion or drama that happpens in this thread as a result of this little experiment.

Suppose I don't decide to stop by spawntown on my way to finding Mazetown Island? Suppose I go spend hours/days/longer there digging maze tunnels. How long were you gonna let me dig before you told me my work would be lost when the backups were loaded?

He didn't hope you guys would agree, he just wanted to see your reactions to it, he obviously knew people surely would hate it hence why he asked me to back up multiple times, just relax.
The one time you see me worried about something like this is the one time that something seriously went wrong and I can't fix it. :v

The point I'm trying to make is, I quite understand Maru's point of view with this, I sortof did the same with my main server (in the end I created a dupe of the world and let the mods/admins use it for stress relief).
I did the same between two servers and gave them an ultimatum between either moving to the new server and world or have no world at all. They grumbled a hell of a lot but before they came over I pretty much said to them "Well that was an interesting experiment", they obviously were confused and asked what I meant, I told them I was lying about destroying the second server and was adding the servers main world to the rooster of worlds on the beta server and that I just wanted to see their reactions.

They still were pissed but not as pissed.

This isnt maru's personal server. this is the community server of which Maru is just the latest in a long line of admins.


I would NOT be upset if maru was doing this to the modded server. hes the admin to that server, he can do whatever to it, even if it means he loses players because of it

TOTALLY UNRELATED TO THE ABOVE ISSUE:

Im getting a server, in which ill make public to the MSers. its gonna be a creative mode server- have fun doing epic builds and stuff. As a caution- greifing=ban, no debate.

also, ill have another server- PLEASE CONTACT me if you want to host a map, event or anything that is a one off kinda thing. I'll be doing different stuff on that server on weekends, and anytime i feel like it. Just pm me with the time you want it to be up, and what map you want on it.
