Yeah, this doesn't sound ideal.

Modern or Legacy would be cool; I lean slightly towards Modern, but I don't have a strong opinion on that. We could try getting a MYOS completed.

I did enjoy the previous MYOS's, but as long as I don't have to filter through millions of cards I'm happy.

I'm getting a new laptop in the next 7-10 days, so I'll be able to play by then.

I'm game for whatever format.

Given the fact that no one appears interested in t1 or 1.5, my preference would be for modern, then TBMs "Random MYOS" format, where two blocks and a core set are randomly chosen and then everyone builds from that pool of cards, then standard. Standard is p. boring imo.

I'd enjoy giving T1 or T1.5 a try, personally. But I appear to be in the minority.

Well, that means (since you are looking to make the game, I think) that standard isn't an option, leaving just two :)

Random MYOS has 2 advantages going for it, the first is that the format we end up with should be unexplored, allowing people that want to test their deck building skills a way to do so, the 2nd is that the card pool will be constrained enough that people like fate or nuwen or myko still have a reasonable chance of understanding what will be good or bad in the format without days of research time.

Unfortunately, true. ISD/IA/M10 give you Delver, Snapcaster, Traft, Force of Will, Counterspell, Mana Leak, Rune Snag, Oblivion Ring, and Ponder. Practically unbeatable in the format.

RYOS would be interesting, in that you couldn't netdeck, and probably be forced to use cards that aren't seen outside that format. I imagine we'd use combined legacy and block ban lists?

The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

I'd assume we'd take the same blocks and sets legal in myos, and randomize them. Now we decide if we want one format, or give everyone a different random standard to build with.

Definitely 1 format. Otherwise Mr. Kamigawa-masques gets paired against Mr. Urzas-Mirrodin and it's just wrong.

Just assign each block a number, and generate 2 random integers on random.org within that range. Do the same thing with core sets.
