there's no secret to being wealthy in minecraft

you have to mine and for an incredibly long time

luck is a minor factor in the end. if you dig low you will find diamonds eventually

luck only plays into the idea of how much you get

I do enjoy the enderdragon runs, though.

the problem is that we just did (maybe 1-2 weeks ago) an enderdragon run in the server in order to create the enderman factory

I mean, i made my fortune less than 500 blocks from spawn.

Who are these people then? I'd like to show them the Hirakian Union personally. I used nothing from my spawn house and it looks quite fine at the moment. Railroads? I'd humor that at least 20% of that was built. The other 80% (not includding powered rails) came from abandoned mining ruins.

PSA: Minecraft maps are near-infinite. Valuable materials attempt to generate in each chunk (16x256x16 area) when it is created - diamonds, between 1 and 8 per chunk within a 2x2x2 cube, and emeralds 10 times within a chunk, individually, but ONLY in an extremehills biome other stuff generates much more. There is NO WAY we've mined out even 0.01% of the available materials, let alone all of them. If the place you're in has got mineshafts running all over it at the lower levels, take a walk. You really don't have to go far.

No offense but I think this poll should've been public. If you're not going to put seniority at an account, then there's something wrong. I'm not saying that seniority should be prevalence but I do believe it should have a factor.

And yes, while this is swayed by my own opinion on the matter, that doesn't make it false.

Something or another that intertwines time on the server and how long they've been on the server. The second has a larger factor. Basically, what I'm trying to get at, is that if this is a "newcomers" argument, it's a bad argument. (Again, no offense but it just is.)

I agree with this, which is why I don't truly believe that my vote should count for anything. I mean, I've been on the server for a little over a month now.

I've been here for nearly 13 months and am in favor of a total reset at the redstone update or a partial reset now, i don't really see how 13 months is newer. I've been here *nearly* as long as our current map, and only a handful of those who are still active can claim longer than I.



I'm also one of the "richest" members of the server to boot.

I meant in terms of who's voting.

I mean if you know who's voting for each option, I can trust you with that information and making the correct decision in the end in comparison to which people should have the most say.

This is the main thing that bothers me about your proposal, Hiraki. I'm not saying seniority should be trashed, but what are we supposed to do when "more senior" members play about once every 2 months when some of us "newbies" play every other day?

I understand the community is important, hell I wouldn't still be here if it wasn't a good community, but shouldn't the server evolve as the community does?

I really cant figure out the modded server mods. If it works for PC, it should work for mac too.

Can you (maru) either zip and upload your minecraft folder, so i can try again, or check the posted one aganist your own for any differences?

I suspect that there's a issue related to Minecraft.jar itself- If i update it to 1.4.6 it works perfectly but will not use any mods. I'm guessing, here, that something's configured incorrectly with it, because what i get every time i try is a black screen after i log in.

Everything works for me except the whole "actually logging onto the server for more than a millisecond".
I'll send you my folder when I get home but who knows if it'll help.

Alright--so again I refer to you my question to Maruchan.

Where's the advantage in restarting? There's literally no point other than making other people's buildings better than previously placed buildings.

It's a big update, but a lot of it doesn't have to do with world generation. There will be a new ore in the Nether (maybe regen the Nether only? is that even possible?) and that's about it as far as changes that wouldn't be available without regenerating at least part of the world.

This post by Hiraki sums up my thoughts on getting "rich".

I understand the need to appeal to new constituents.
Hence why a Second "Spawntown" would be great- new people and those people who wish to move/build there would be encouraged. You could build a rail track to the new place from Spawn/SpawnTown so people could:
A) Visit the old SpawnTown
B) go to the new one if they are new and/or want a vanilla thing.

Trying to find good middle ground because alot of the existing stuff is awesome (Ex: everything Fishy touches).

Thinking about the birth of Spawntown- I think I was the first person to die in the Nether. >_>

I actually hope that feature is never implemented. I think usernames are a one time thing, and they show who you are, it wouldn't be so special if you can change it.
