But yeah, some letters might have to be split into two and others (Q and X?) might have to be combined.

Me and Yaw vs. everyone else. Sounds like fun.Fiasco wrote:Come to think of it, another approach I think has a lot of potential is the tag-team approach (as in Two-Headed).
Hey! You know what'd be fun? A game where everyone could play, with the whole site divided into a number of "players" based on something like the first letter of their username or their join month. Anyone making their first post in the game thread would be sent one of the roles. Team F for the win!
I don't think that gets you into any trouble. For a while, I had "lynch all lurkers:post or die!" in my signature so people wouldn't come to the mistaken impression that my constant lurkerhunting was any kind of scumtell. But eh, I don't feel the need to do that anymore; people generally don't have a problem with lurkerhunting, and if they do I just go back and explain all the reasons why lurking is bad for the town.ibaesha wrote:2. Progressively taking a metagame stance to pressure and otherwise lynch lurkers in hopes that it'll do something to discourage the behavior. Unfortunately, the current stance of most people on the site is that lurking is allowable and not a good reason to vote for someone. Also, because of the general attitude towards lurkers, I think it'd just cause me more grief than it would do any good.
(shrug) I'm in more then that, and I think I'm more enthusiastic about them them many of the people in the games. How many games your in is not really the issue.Fiasco wrote:Maybe mafiascum.net would be better off with an ethic that says "don't sign up for a game if you're not going to be enthusiastic about participating in that game". It seems hard to be enthusiastic about 10 different games at the same time.
This is definitely true. For me, enthusiasm comes with the game. Either the setup is interesting (like ORB Mafia), the theme interests me (like Blizzard Mafia), or the happenings interest me.Fiasco wrote:It's possible to post regularly, and not be enthusiastic. I'm willing to believe that you're at least as enthusiastic about each individual game as the average player in that game, but you'd probably be more enthusiastic about them if you played fewer games, and that in turn might inspire the other people in those games to post more...
