VOTE: Lupo

I did some cross-iso's and his definitely strikes me as the scummiest. I don't like his waffling over CD in the beginning of Day 1, when he quoted CD's posts about angles/circles and only wrote "wtf". When I asked him what his read on CD was, he just said that it's null but strange, and didn't offer up reads on anyone else. Two posts later, he suddenly had a scum read on CD but no one else, but said that he would give CD "one more chance" before actually voting him, which strikes me as odd because someone is either scummy or not scummy, especially since he didn't have any other scumspects. However, he never actually laid a vote down on CD and continued to not give reads, and of course, his scummy jump onto the NS wagon has been beaten to death so I won't go into it, but I do believe this argument holds merit. And finally, I really don't like his interactions with Hellhound because by consistently saying "I don't agree with this case" but not trying to stop it, it looks like he was really just trying to get town cred.

I still need to do an iso on Melmond, but I thought it would be more important for me to get some content out first and catch up with the day so far.

pecanpie wrote:

I don't think there's much to say since set-up speculation won't be fruitful at this time. Why do you think this is something significant to be touched upon?

BBS' claim was odd and anti-town, but I don't think it's indicative of alignment since it could be either misguided town or frustrated scum. I do still dislike his interactions with the Hellhound wagon towards the end of Day 1, though.

NS needs to post, but I don't think voting him will help.

Here is a tentative list of reads in some approximation of strength.

Town: Idiotking, pappums rat, killerjester, Kublai Khan, Paschendale
Leaning Town: Cheery Dog, pecanpie

Can you elaborate on your CD read? I thought you had him pegged as scummy to some degree.

Hmmm, yes I agree speculation is not fruitful right now. I just found it interesting in the context of today's opening posts screaming "ye gawds BBStar/Lupo next to die", no one took the vig flip or lack of night action into account. Not speculating, just observing. Worth revisiting later perhaps.

I find the lack of a night kill fascinating. Either we have a very good (lucky?) protection role or scum decided to no-kill for some strategic reason (which I truly will never understand).

Reading over Day One, no obvious doctor or jailkeeper person jumps out at me, so if they do exist, they're quite stealthy.

That said, I do agree that BBS is being either useless town or total scum. I'm leaning more toward scum at this point. I'm not really seeing the case on Lupo (well, I
see it,
I just don't really think it's as good as the BBS case). Anyway, if BBS flips scum, we can probably look in Lupo's detractors for BBS' partners.

(Also, I forgot this game had 2-week deadlines, sorry.)

Well for town it appears as a lack of night action, I don't know what
you
saw happening.

There could be a number of possibilities to what happened, I wasn't limiting it to one.

@NS: could we get reads on the other players too?
As for the NK speculation, I'm pretty sure it was blocked, but lets not speculate on it further. You're pretty much saying I'm not a doc/jk/etc and narrowing down the possibilities of who is.

Yep, yep, agreed.

Except of course scum being crafty and pleading innocence to it all, so the narrowing remains ambigious...

On the note of crafty scum, I'm working on a largish post, but it's a work in progress.

As far as I can tell, yes.

Are you kidding? The only thing Nobody Special bothered to say after he'd been prodded was:

"I need to read the game."
"Ok read the game. Wow, no kill last night--I didn't notice any town PRs. Anyways, good job on that major wagon, keep it up. Bye."

Nobody Special mind as well put up a sign on his door that reads "Please Do Not Disturb, I'm Murdering Townies".

Piffle. I'm scumhunting. Just because you don't agree with my methods doesn't mean they don't work.

And it's time to add some pressure:

Not because you think he's scum, but because you want to pressure him... So your vote is merely because it's a popular wagon. No thoughts or reasoning of your own.

You know, maybe there's more to a NS lynch than I thought...

On top of that, when you say that you are voting just for pressure it doesn't put any pressure at all. "Oh look you, I'm not actually voting for you because I want you lynched, I just want to have my vote on you because... well... um... but yeah! So squirm you little person, you!" It looks more like NS is just trying to look like he's doing something.

On Friday I want to do a full examination of pecanpie, Paschendale, and killerjester, particularly the last two. Something about them just doesn't sit right with me.

Uh...Hmm. You are "scum hunting" by placing a vote for "pressure" on player who has pretty much handled the most pressure he can get. I mean he's already claimed and everything. What exactly were you pressuring for?

This is dumb dumb, I'd cobble together a largish post about scum theory on players like killerjester and Cheery Dog and try to meticulously explain why. But as a result I would end up defending the actions of players like Lupo and Nobody Special.

ie. Person A:
"I don't like you, you lurk, I'm suspicious" *votes*

Lurkersauce:
"I'm totally here and contributing, hi guys" *token vote* *disappears for 5 days*

Now the problem here is that depending on who Person A is I get either townie or manipulative scum flavours, but to develop a largish case on that feels redundant when there's this luke-warm contribution happening from a whole bunch of lurkersauce players who would get town credit by proxy. Credit where credit's due, and I don't think it's deserved in this case.

I'd consider a policy lynch on a decent target an option. Lupo, for example, appears to be doing another fading act and if his flip doesn't favour town, than looking closely at his wagon may. BBStar is a possibility, his posts confuse me more than anything, how anyone can discern scum from them is beyond me. Perhaps someone could enlighten me as to why he's scum? Or chances are I'll be wanting to look very carefully in the direction of those who are labeling a VI scum.
