Ok.
I've done it.
I've found the most fun carry in the game.

It's Clinkz.
You can solo, or you can roll with a partner. Either way you get good farm, but with a partner you can also kill heroes. You spend the first 15~ minutes farming creeps and harassing the enemy, and then you finish your Orchid.
For most carries, completing their first major item means even more farming and maybe a bit of ganking on the side. For Clinkz, it's means it's time to change from farming creeps to farming heroes because you can now kill anyone 1v1 and you roam the map at max movespeed. You then spend the rest of the game alternating between visiting the jungle to eat a creep for your ulti and sprinting around the map looking for poor saps to incinerate.

Basically Clinkz is the strongest hero in the game at level 16, with utterly insane hp and dps. He can take on anyone and is vastly underrated as a murder machine. Ever since his ultimate rework he has been grossly powerful.

1. yes its stupid. you shouldnt have to click on a person to see their mana. might be redeemed when mods come out but its a braindead design choice and an unnecessary holdover from dota 1
2. ghost marchers vs phase boots. shrunken head vs bkb. scout vs bounty hunter. devo vs pudge. pebs vs tiny. attack animations. i can go on and on and on and on and on and on and on.
3. yes. BLINK DAGGER BARELY MAKES A SOUND AT ALL. RE.TARD.ED. ITS BARELY NOTICEABLE. EVERY ABILITY SOUNDS THE SAME. Compare with some of the newer hon sounds, "Hey, guys look what I got" - "I loooooooooooove me some creeps!"
4. warding is restricted, cant really ward freely and it really limits the gameplay
5. minus. its bad. its basically a roulette system for mid. i shouldnt have to explain this
6. its bad. unecessary arbitrary mechanic that long outstayed its welcome and is only in the game as a holdover from dota 1

i like playing the dota heroes (though some are ridiculously broken, boggles my mind that dota players get on a high horse about balance) but hon is truly the superior game at a technical level on so many fronts

and its completely f2p now (all heroes unlocked for everyone! :>)

discussion doesn't need to be fueled by hate for the opposite game - it's just that it inevitably becomes a dick-waving contest where the major rebuttals are "no u" with fancy words around them.

I'll cede the point of hero balance and runes at 0:00, but this only applies to public games - the game's balanced around draft and people communicating with eachother.

Dota 2 is already stupid enough with heroes saying stupid things when they get runes, or denying. Saying more stupid things when say blinking is just.

Plus in Dota 2 they already made skills far more obvious than they were in Dota, which actually makes me sad because subtlety is fun (although sometimes not fair but mehhhhhh).

Dota heroes can be broken if you're playing with bad pubs just because they're bad pubs. Hell you can make almost any hero seem broken against pubs.

Blink Dagger is obvious as hell, with the flurry of particles and the distinct sound.

Basically the only difference is you don't need to drag out the flying courier to counterward jungle camp blocking wards.

Except all 5 players on both teams can go for the rune. And if the enemy mid goes for the rune, they get no creep blocking. It makes for interesting clashes at 0:00. The runes are a roulette system for mid anyway, because no particular rune is guaranteed.

Well, first of all, there's nothing stopping it from being removed in DotA1 because that's not a limitation. Secondly, the secret shop being where it is makes map control that bit more important. Games have been won thanks to control of the secret shop.

2. most agree that hon "feels" better than dota 2, this is what I mean by "functional aesthetics"
3. darox you know portal key is better than blink dagger. PK SOUND = DOIIING DINK REALLY LOUD / BD = LITTLE TINY BLOOP NOISE. DO NOT DENY.

5. hon proved a long time ago why the 0:00 rune is bad, its a lengthy discussion I dont have time for. I used to like it but its too much of a dice roll for my liking thanks!
6. limitation by way of creeping normalcy, and again, hon proved that the secret shop really wasn't that important and saw it for the arbitrary mechanic it really was once it was removed
7. ursa, phantom lancer, ta, and furion to start! what hon heroes do you think are imbalanced? :)
