1/4 3 drop that mills 4. In a deck that's going to want to stall and get bombs into the graveyard so that you can summon them from the graveyard, seems like a good fit?

It's not a format staple by any means, but it fits the niche pretty well I'd think.

4 minutes, 2-0 round 1.

Opening hand game two was wingcrafter, wingcrafter, forcemage, familiar. I'm still afraid of boros.

Wow... played black with a splash of blue control deck. Got him to 1 the first game, 2 the second game. Flooded game one, didn't draw a single land game 2 (2 in starting hand). Win some, lose some.

Drafted M13 at FNM last night, first pack was a Thundermaw Hellkite. Went like 7-6 overall, but traded a Gilded Lotus + Rhox Faithmender for a Silverblade Paladin and two Zealous Conscripts for my boros deck, so I'm happy.

Pulled a Jace on Friday night for a sealed league my LGS is doing and a PHydra that night at the draft. Then, my roommate bought a box for us to practice drafting (where he keeps the cards) and got... Omniscience, Akroma's, Vamp Nocturnus, Chandra, and Ajani (the last one right as a bunch of white was being passed on and I said "It'd be hilarious if someone pulled an Ajani"). And some decent rares on top of that. Oh, and he also bought a fat pack while we were waiting for Reck's bf to get home for said draft and pulled Nicol Bolas, a foil Staff of Nin and a Hellkite. Almost makes me want to buy a box myself, if I had the money... sadly, even if I did I'd wait for RtR.

Speaking of, for those that missed it:

- The first set in the Return to Ravnica block will be called "Return to Ravnica." It will specifically include these 5 Guilds, Azorius(U/W), Rakdos(B/R), Selesnya(G/W), Golgari(G/B), and Izzet(R/U).
- The second set will be called "Gatecrash," and will feature these 5 guilds, Simic(G/U), Dimir(U/B), Boros(R/W), Orzhov(B/W), and Gruul(G/R).
- The third block still hasn't been released yet, and is still be called by it's codename "sinker." However it will feature cards from all 10 guilds.
- At sealed pre-releases, you are given your choice of guild. You receive 5 boosters, a special booster that corresponds to the guild you picked, a guild-colored spindown, and a guild-related promo card that you can use at the event.
- Draft order for RtR block = RTR-RTR-RTR, GTC-GTC-GTC, sinker-GTC-RTR

Im so hard for RtR.

In other news, I think white is great for drafting in m13. Ajani's Sunstriker, that bird for 1 that can only attack if you have a soldier/knight, and Odric's Crusader are just great. I drafted Boros since I first-picked Hellkite and it worked well. I find red pretty underwhelming though. I think White/Green is particularly strong.

Sudo is Simic for lyfe
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Fine, Golgari is an acceptable hold-over, but still, Simic was awesome for EDH.

I'm reasonably sure they're going to manage to future site the crap out of RtR and make it terrible. Iunno. I cant forsee it being as good, since they'll be trying to force it. I'm keeping my hopes decidedly low.

Opinions on mono-blue mill post-SoM?

Running stuff like Jace's Phantasmal, Jace (Adept), Mind Sculpt, Dream Twist, Bloody Tome, and shriekgeist. Elixir for obvious utility, I figure Dissipate isn't too slow for this deck so missing mana leak doesn't hurt as much. There's that bounce spell for 1 in the ISD block, name escapes me. It's not exactly vapor snag, but it'll do. Thoughts?

Yeah, Erasure is great with think twice/amass/jace's abilities in general. Does losing it hurt
that
much?

This is where I'm currently at. I'll have to play test this when I get home, but I'd like to order my Jace's now so they're here for FNM/Saturday standard. Is there a hard-fast rule about # of planeswalkers in a deck? In a deck like this is Jace a 4-of? I figured 3 was good due to his cost.
