If we can start one up tonight around 9:30-10pm EST, I'm in. Work at 9am, but I can deal with less sleep to draft, especially since I'm missing the M13 Prerelease this weekend :(

I could in for that.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Made the plunge. Just bought playsets of every common/uncommon in ISD/DKA/AVR. Going to hand pick rares and go off and running into the world of paper magic again :D

Congrats! That's the best way to do it. It even works in MTGO.

Anyone going to the midnight pre-release of M13? And/or Saturday/Sunday pre-releases?
I will have

Won a draft tonight with UW. p1p1 raven, p1p2 seraph, p1p3 into the void. p2 had a Herald, Eman-Angel and another Seraph, and p3p2 (yes, pick 2) was an Avacyn.

That paid for my draft, and the prizes paid for my Sunday prerelease costs. Woo!

I also found it really hard to beat double Latch Seeker + Lifelink soulbonder.

I think Latch Seeker is underrated in Avacyn draft. In U/G soulbond or U/W it can get in against a lot of decks with few answers. Great card.

Elguad Shieldmate is another underrated one, I think. Evasive creatures are already hard to deal with, and Hexproof removes a lot of answers. There were a couple of times I had Righteous Blow in hand and still died to Latch Seeker because of Hexproof.

its not hard to imagine passing avacyn... You make it sound like it should never be done, but I think it should be done like at least half the time.

for a foil cathar's

I'd take the Avacyn personally

the one time I got to play Avacyn (had access to her two other times with enough mana, but won before I could play her), bonded her to a Shieldmate just to be almost perfectly safe

Not a bad deck all in all. U/R agro. Win in 6 or not at all ftw

Especially pack 3, that's really not all that unsurprising.

Elgaud underrated? I don't think anyone says it's a bad card, but it's not a bomb.

Latch Seeker gives me nightmares in Limited.

I think Elgaud's strength is that it provides a lot of protection in the decks that want it. Like, in an aggro deck, you don't really want Elgaud unless you've got Lumberknot. But in UW, Elgaud's ability to make an angel bounceproof can seal games.
