I ran into a problem following your instructions on setting up the mods needed. (I'm using set 1 cause I have a few client-side mods I want as well, like optifine which is required to use my favored texture pack)
The author has updated ExtraBiomesXL to version
2.2.5
and there is no link that I can find in the mod's thread (as linked by you) to get version
2.2.3
which is the one you say we need.
Is there a way to get the version we need somewhere or can you just update the server to use the new version?
Also please add me to whitelist, as I'll join when I get the mods straightened out. My minecraft username is

Nope, login was fine. Anyway, fixed now. Can you whitelist me (te227) on the modded server? I'm going to try to get it running later today.

At the moment I expect everyone is distracted by the shiny new modded server. I'm sure they'll come back to the normal one soonish.

I think I like Onyx or Diamond armor the best, but Onyx has poor enchantability. I got PRot 3 a few times on lvl 45+ enchants

Unfortunately those mods seem to push my minecraft into unplayability, looks like I'll have to stick to the normal server. Have fun!

Give me the error logs, or share screen me on skype and I can help. following either method it should not push you into unplayability. I have had people successfully do either method.

No, I got the mods loaded fine - the first method worked. But the mods make minecraft painfully slow on even very low graphics settings.
