Also, Emerald ore only comes together in blocks of 1, and are only found below layer 30 in Extreme hills and Extreme hills edge biomes. I think there is a limit of about 8 per chunk too.

As for the crop - indeed, emerald won't be that common. And you can get it by trading. I was more thinking on the lines of the new jungle and desert temples that might crop up.
But then again, I might just crop out the extreme legs that some explorers made -- remember you guys have a VERY LAZY admin
Ew, the Redstone Lanterns look horrible on default texture :P
I'll post some of the pics I took during the day with my texture pack.

Orange is just to ensure I get most of my tundra still- I plan on expanding further with a walled fort-type thing. Basically I'd like to keep the tundra up to that river where it turns into a desert.
What I REALLY need is to make a grand home base instead of having half my stuff on a boat in a tree and half my stuff out on the ice. :/
ALSO I know FishytheFish owns some sort of Jungle Temple out to the east- I don't know exactly where but he's spent alot of time on it so don't shrink the server until he gets to mark it.
edit: I don't use texture packs because I don't know how to download them. >_>

RE texture packs: I've tried a few, and I really don't like them. It's just a taste thing, but one of the things that I find/found really attractive about minecraft was the look of it. I just really, really, really love the look of vanilla minecraft. I guess I'm weird that way.

Nah I'm the same. Faithful 32x is just a hi-def version of default. Coterie is close enough that it keeps the feel, I just think it's cleaner. Watching Minecraft vids with wacky texture packs just makes my eyes hurt.
