I guess you would just hope that they avoid the posts on the off days or not iso at all. It’s part of the reason why it’s a worst role. Honour system, that’s all you can do.

You are
a Jedi, like your father before you
. You always thought you were nothing special, but it turns you you were wrong! Some player in this game is your father. Unfortunately, he was turned to the dark-side by DARKLORD_NAME. You win if you convince your father to lynch the player that turned him.

You are
conflicted about your loyalties
. You used to be town, but now you're not! A shadowy figure converted you to his cause last night. You also have a 1-shot ability to convert someone to your faction. You also have a child that you've never met. You win if you convert your child.

You are
the dark lord
. You have a one-shot ability to convert someone to your faction, but you must use it the first Night. Take caution, however, for they have a child who does not take kindly to you. You win if that child lynches their father.

MODNOTE: Jedi and Conflicted start out as VT's and get role-modifcation PM's as appropriate.

I thought that this would be a fun mechanic, probably in a larger game with room for this little "cult". I like that no one person has the full story (Dark Lord knows who Conflicted is, Conflicted knows who Jedi is, Jedi knows who Dark Lord is), but it's possible for interactions between the players to reveal the connections. It is also *technically* possible for each of the roles above to win in the same game, but mostly they're all working at cross purposes.

If the father converts the child, does that make the child autowin? Or does the child convert to the father's
old
faction? (Also, can the father win with their old faction?)

I suppose I'm using "faction" in a non-standard way. They're only really a faction in that the roles are inter-related. The old role and wincon cease as soon as they become the new roles, and the new role wincons become their ONLY wincons. This is really a series of 3rd part roles, as there is no substantial relation to either town or mafia. While it's true that a converted mafia would cease to be mafia and know their former mafia-mates, since the new wincon has nothing to do with mafia, there's no reason for him to out them. The conversion attempt by the father would simply fail against anyone who wasn't the son... so I guess making it 1-shot is a bit harsh. Should go ahead and let him try once per night. Here's how they could all win, albeit unlikely:

1. DL converts C.
2. C and J get their new roles
3. C converts J
4. J convinces C to help lynch DL
5. J helps lynch C

The 3, 4, 5, there fulfills everyone's wincon.

You are
Informant
.
Each night you may choose one person and hand over the information he has to another person. For example, if a Cop investigates someone that night and gets a result, you would be passing on that result to someone else. You don't know any alignments of players. If you choose a Scum aligned person to take the information from, you will get killed that night. You won't die if you are passing your information to a Scum aligned player. You don't know any informations yourself, and the person receiving your information doesn't know about you but will acquire the information only. The player you are extracting the information from will not know about this either.

Information will be based only on Night Actions of a player. Not the alignment of the player himself.
You win with the Town.

Thinking this would have been done before already.

You are a
Mafia Kill Flavourer
.

Each night, submit to the mod the following information:
  • The flavour you want for the kill performed by your faction
  • The flavour you want for any kills performed by other anti-town factions
  • The flavour you want for any kills performed by town-aligned players
  • The flavour you want for any deaths for other reasons (e.g. Weak Cops who scan an anti-town player)

Any deaths will be given the kill flavours you specify, and you can change them from night to night. If you fail to send in a list, or are dead, all overnight deaths will be flavoured with the generic "died".

Doesn't seem a 'worst role ideas' idea?

Locke Lamora used a kill flavoyr manipulator in his Road to Wrestlemania game, I like them.

It's pretty bastard, especially as they can use the same small set of flavours and keep swapping them around between teams.

Sure, but I think it has it's place in a complex theme game. Well, not 'has it's place' but for certain set-ups it's an interesting role. At the very least the ability to change your
own
themes kill flavour is interesting to me.

I swear I've used something like this before. Was it Tiger MetaTiger?

In the Invictus games I let the scum choose their own kill flavor for the fun of it.

You are the
Vote collector
. If a player ends the day without his/her vote cast, you get his/her vote in the next day phases in addition to your own. ex: D1 3 players don't vote: you get 4 votes (you own + 3) D2. D2 2 players don't vote, you get 6 votes D3. And so on... If you die, all votes go back to their respective owners. You win with [insert win condition]

You are the
Vote gatherer
. Your number of votes is equal to the number of votes from the dead players in the game. ex: a double voter dies, you get 2 votes, a normal player dies, you get an extra vote, etc. Of course, you have no vote until someone dies. You win with [insert win condition]

You are the
Vote enabler
. As long as you're alive, players can vote. If you die, everyone loses their vote (including other dead players). You can't vote. You win with [insert win con]

You are the
Vote Acquirer
. Your number of votes is equal to the number of votes you have on you. ex: if 3 players are voting you, you have 3 votes. You can't vote for yourself. You win with [insert win con]

You are the
Vote Destroyer
. You can choose a player every night. That player will have his/her maximum number of votes the next day reduced by one. This power is cumulative (ex, if you use the power two times on the same player, they will lose two votes). You win with [insert win con].

You are the
Vote Supplier
. Any player that targets you during the night has their voting power increased by one for the duration of the game. You win with [insert win con].

Can be quite fun together, I think. The most broken one is vote enabler, probably.

I don't see how town can possibly win after a vote enabler dies, unless they have a vig (probably multiple vigs). And it would make day phases kind-of bland…

You are a
Santa Killer
. Each night you assign another player a compulsive kill. You may not assign the kill to the same player more than once until everyone still living has had a turn, at which point you may do another round. You win when the game is down to just you and one other player.

That is actually a not-awful role. Definitely needs a shot or two of BP, but elsewise, that's totally usable in a theme game.

In post 3180, Yosarian2 wrote:You have a Cursed Necklace of Doom.

If the game ends and you still have the cursed necklace, you lose, no matter what else happens.

During the day, you can try to give the necklace to someone else. The other person must say, in thread,
I accept the necklace
. You can claim whatever you want in order to get them to agree to do this. If they do, then they will lose whatever role they had before and will have now this role; they will be told of their new role that night.

If you do give away the necklace, then you become a survivor. You win if you give away the necklace and then live until the end of the game. Alternately, if more then half the people in the game are turned into survivors by being given the necklace and then successfully giving it away, the game is over and all the survivors win, and everyone else loses (of course, whoever ends up with the cursed necklace at the end of the game still loses).

This is actually subtly brilliant
