Poison won't kill your pokemon in Heartgold and above. It'll just bring them to 1 HP.

I've been working on an Emerald run with the main rules and a duplicate clause (otherwise I'd have like 7 Poochyenas)
Every one of my Pokemon is named after a classical composer or pianist.
Right now I have lvl 28. Achille, the Combusken (named after Claude-Achille Debussy)
Lvl 28 Prokofiev, the Gyarados (Sergei Prokofiev)
Lvl 25 Kabalevsky, the Gloom (Dmitri Kabalevsky)
Lvl 26 Valentina, the Ninjask (After a pianist, because I needed a female name, Valentina Lisitsa)
Lvl 26 DSCH, the Numel (After Dmitri Shostakovich, who used that signature as a recurring motif in his compositions)
Lvl 18 VillaLobos, the Lombre (HM Slave, after Heitor Villa-Lobos)
So far I've had a Taillow die, it got destroyed by May's Marshtomp's Bide, and I had a Mightyena get criticalled by a Koffing's Self Destruct. They were both pretty devastating. I really liked them.

so restarted, got a numel (fire-ground camel thing) that only knew tackle and growl, and then lost to the first pokemon i fought (a level 3 scizor that i failed escaping from twice).

I kind of abandoned the exact Nuzlocke rules near the end because grinding for the Elite Four would've taken forever otherwise but I did finish it with a team of:
Goebbels the lvl 59 Umbreon (the very first poke I caught)
Bismarck the lvl 64 Whiscash
Kutuzov the lvl 63 Weezing (pretty badass if you've got the TMs to spend)
Luther the lvl 55 Nidoking (the poison type represents antisemitism)

So far getting Plum levels is like pulling teeth. Gamma just thugs out and can clear whole dungeons not caring. Gonna try some new ones when I get to a place I can get them levels without them exploding.

Rhinox the level 13 Aron- 1-shot by the fighting gym leader's Makuhita with Vital Throw. (seriously why is fighting strong against a steel-rock type)
So I'm currently going into Granite Cave with no pokemon that can learn flash.
