Actually, since I said what I said last I've ended up having my weekend pretty solidly booked, which means I'm probably not going to be able to make any time unless it's after 4AM EST or so. So...

The Steps of Knowledge

Blue Barracudas
: kdowns and Elmo TeH AzN
Green Monkeys
: T-Bone and Captain Corporal
Purple Parrots
: Twistedspoon and JDGA
Silver Snakes
: chesskid3 and animorpherv1

Welcome to the Steps of Knowledge! Here's how it works:

  1. Lower down in this post, you will find this episode's Legend. Please take the time to read over it, as all the questions will be based upon it.
  2. At 8:00pm EST, provided there are no outstanding questions, I will post the first Question. The first team to post the correct answer will earn a point and step down.
  3. Only the first answer from your team will be counted, no matter if the correct answer came later.
  4. The first two teams to three points will move on to the Temple Games.
  5. Editing is absolutely verboten. Don't do it or you lose that point. Do it again and you get disqualified.

Spoiler: THE LEGEND
Towering over Rangun, the capital city of ancient Burma, is a great temple called the Shwedagon Pagoda. The Pagoda is covered with over two tons of gold and over six thousand jewels, including a giant 73-karat diamond at the top of its tower. It also has thousands of bells, tiny tinkling ones and one that weighs 23 tons. Inside the Pagoda was a giant statue of Buddha with a large jade belly button. In 1824, the British stormed the Pagoda, and the English soldiers made off with the Belly Button of Buddha and the great bell. The bell sank in the river as they tried to float it away. The Burmese later lifted it out of the river, but the Belly Button of Buddha vanished completely…until now!
