I dunno. It was six minutes between those. I'm betting he quit before realizing it. But I thought I should do that just in case. It certainly wasn't a real "sniper" post, that's for sure.

Polarboy, I think you may of calculated your points for the last round wrong.

Polarboy Points Turn 5
  • +12 - R.202 - (305-291)(7/8) = 12.125
    -10 - R.206
    -5 - R.304
For a grand total of -3, not -5

Shady certainly had less than a minute, and came within 5 seconds or so of making, I'd say. By the time I went back to the forum after my post, Shady's post was already there.

I'm a lean, mean, posting machine.

Rule 305:
All rules are now mutable, and any rule or part of a rule which requires a distinction between mutable and non-mutable rules is now obsolete.

Tentative 48 hour deadline for discussion, though I may change that, depending...

Any questions, comments, criticisms, suggestions?

There are 15 immutable rules & 15 mutable rules. By making the immutable rules mutable, that gives us 30 mutable rules. This exceeds the limit set by R.209.
R.209 wrote:At no time may there be more than 25 mutable rules.
That aside, I think by making all the rules mutable will make the game too unstable. While I wouldn't mind making any individual rule mutable, I'm hesitant to make all mutable.

Well, the rule you quoted is an example of the rule that now becomes obsolete, or at least I intended it to. I feel rather than make it more stable, it will make it more interesting. It means there is a lot more we can do, and I think nthe game will move at a faster pace because of it.

I'm with CoolBot on this one. I would vote for making specifics rules mutable, but I don't think I'd vote to change all immutable rules to mutable. I'm not sure what purpose this would have. Right now, the only immutable rule I see that would benefit from being changed to mutable (other than the one I did earlier) would be 112, the one that prohibits changing the victory conditions. I think anyone attempting to change any of the other, base rules would be voted down quite quickly - so why change them to mutable in the first place?

211. If two or more mutable rules conflict with one another, or if two or more immutable rules conflict with one another, then the rule with the lowest ordinal number takes precedence.
So not only would the "max 25" rule not be made obsolete by your new rule, your proposition would be nullified. I think.

I'd be up for a proposition that changed 209 though....

Seems okay to me. As far as I can tell, shady's proposition would have absolutely no effect. So why give him free points?

Technically Shadyforce's vote must be cast before the vote is final. I suggest that Stewie be ready to post his proposal when it happens.
